Remix of eroikas remix http://freesound. Org/people/erokia/sounds/401269/ which originated in rheynemusic´s https://freesound. Org/people/rheynemusic/sounds/401225/. Combination/remix was suggested by limitsnap_creations. Thanks!!. Stretched and pitched the hdd-sound a little for optimal fit, also some sidechain compression gives the rhodes more space to breath.

Sounds of an old hard disk drive from 2005 (hitachi). You hear starting of the spinning noise and the heads rumbling when data is read and written. I started a short defragmenting to make the disk noisy. Recorded with a roland r-05.

An old hard drive starting up. The idle sound is from the hard drive itself and not the computer's fan noise. Some minor editing has been done to remove a slight bass rumble from the computer's fan. Recorded on sony pcm-a10.

Inserting, reading, launching a program, and ejecting a dvd-r in a usb disc drive (repackaged "hp dvdram gu90n" laptop drive) with the occasional rumble of a 2tb 7200rpm internal hard drive (in an enclosure) and mouse clicks. Computer fan may be audible in background. Contains seek noises. Recorded on blue yeti in omnidirectional mode and denoised in rx 8 (drive whine re-enhanced though as noise removal made it quieter). Labels added to audio in fl studio edison.

Digital noise made from raw binary files extracted from hdd with hexplorer using raw import function in audacity. Files were 4, each made from 200 sectors. I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .
