This replica of my tinnitus was created using the free program called audacity. Http://audacityteam. Org/i had to generate 3 different 'tones' and combine them before i felt the high-ish noise was close to what i hear. I then had to search freesound for something that i only hear beneath the high pitch noise when my house is very quiet, which is something like the sound of strong wind outside a closed window or a power station a mile away. It took me a few hours, and even then i had to manipulate the sound considerably. Thanks to felix. Blume forhttp://freesound. Org/people/felix. Blume/sounds/167684/#commentsthis natural wind sound file was equalized and leveled several times, then the sound level was reduced to blend with the high pitch. But it still wasn't right. So, not being an expert with audacity, i just went down the list of 'effects', trying each one, until i found "paulstretch", which somehow increases the time length of your sound file, without stretching as in 'elastic', which would deepen the existing tones, and apparently, without copying and pasting. The sound does change somewhat, becoming just slightly ragged, but it's a very interesting effect for this application and actually got used on both elements to produce the final sound. . I hope no one enjoys this sound and can't imagine that anyone will. It makes me feel slightly sick. . Info edited 28 oct 2021: with my tinnitus at it's current level, i will never, now, be able to reproduce it again, primarily because i can't hear any sounds i create in a detailed way. And secondly, because hearing this version of the sound these days is just too uncomfortable. 🥲.

This started out as a good idea for one of my projects but began to have a life of it's own as i rolled up my sleeves and fussed over every detail. Short field recordings made with my iphone in august 2013 while visiting family on one of the many small residential islands located in beaufort, south carolina (of forrest gump, the prince of tides, the big chill, and the great santini fame for any movie buffs out there). The loud buzzing is the ear-piercing mating call of the cicada insect, a sound that's hard to escape in the sultry summer months and semi-tropical environment of the south carolina low country. You can also hear tree frogs and i think maybe some birds too. Unfortunately there's also a little ambient whine of an air conditioner at times and me tip-toeing quietly around on the crunchy gravel dirt road. . . Because i didn't realize my iphone would do such a good job of picking up the sound of my footsteps. :). This is a recording i made on sunday november 4th 2012 of the gentle, droning sounds of insects that were singing in a marshy area near the shore of a small lake. This is a very typical ambiance of autumn in the southern portion of illinois. If you listen carefully, you'll hear another very typical fall sound, the cry of blue jays in the heavy woods which surround this lake. One of my favorite sound-scapes. I made this with my rugged and dependable handy zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. I literaly had it sitting on a small log only about 15 feet from the water's edge. Because the insects were not very loud, i did have to crank up my record volume to 86 on the scale of 100; this means you will hear a little bit of slight wind rumble, but all-in-all i think the recording paints a good picture of the early autumn landscape and everything slows down and winds down for the bitter winter ahead. As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. The amtrak pacific surfliner winds it'd way up and down the pacific coast coast. This train is known for spectacular coastal views. Here you can hear this high-speed train come screaming through burbank's downtown station (traffic can be heard on i-5 in the distance). You will hear a security guard walk behind me just before the train comes through. He was one of our trusty transpo officers making sure i wasn't up to no good with my zoomh4n device. This was captured from last year. I thought my recorder wasn't working properly because when i checked the recording, i couldn't find the file. The time/date stamp was screwy. Lol anyway, i didn't see the couple but they were in the room right next to mine. I could literally hear them through the door. I thought at first that it was more than just a couple in the room but after listening several times i think it was just one couple. Like i said, i didn't see them. There is some conversation towards the end but nothing significant that needs to be censored or deleted. The guy was joking with the girl about being a "five star fuck". ;d lol throughout the recording, you might hear some "knocking" and creaking sounds. Sorry. That was me. I kept my hotel door propped open and i was peeking out every now and then to check on my recorder. Anyway, i wasn't able to get a recording this year but i was able to find this one (that i thought was lost) from last year, so enjoy! :d.

This is only a recording of me playing a djembe, recorded with a pair of nt1-a mics, but after messing around with some of logic's amp and resonator effects i ended up with this. The 6/8 groove reminded me of the doctor-who theme, and the interval displacement of a minor 6th i thought sounded pretty cool. You don't have to credit me, but if you use my sound i'd love to hear what you come up with!.

Here's my second flute reel for the make noise morhpagene. This is how far i've came over the past few months in my playing and despite a few slip ups here and there i'm quite pleased with how i'm able to make it sound now. The rhythm is near-perfect, we can clearly hear hoofs on dirt as well as the animals heavy breathing. Various segments are perfectly loopable. Recorded on an h-1 zoom on a pole astride the animal. As a side-note, the horse itself is from a price-winning blood-line and worth in the excess of $1. 5 million us. I know, right?.

The apollonia is a mechanized organ and music machine. It was built in 1926 and resides in the musical instrument museum (phoeniz, arizona). It takes up the space of an entire wall. Tech notes: this is a stereo recording made with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, close xy pattern). I failed to notice that the low-cut filter was engaged on the recorder, so the full bass range of the instrument was not properly captured. You'll need to hear it for yourself in person!.

Some raw one-shots from my doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer recorded and edited using ni maschine. In my ears they sound way better with a bit of compression, but i thought the unprocessed files would be more useful. Naming is super vague. Recorded back in may 2014. This is a large shed housing a hundred goats owned by a local cheese producer. It's an autochthonous goat breed called 'cabra palmera' (goat from la palma island). Listen to their bells. Hammer hitting a nail: in this sound you hear a metal hammer hitting a metal nail into a slab of wood, creating a harsh sounding sound. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. A high shelf and a band was added to the sound to make the hammer hitting the nail more clear. The hammer used was 2kg hammer and the nail was 5 cm long nail and the wood was a piece of eucalyptus tree wood.

I have a knack for the reprehensible as some may have gathered. It comes naturally. So every once in a while my partner sings about it. Karen carpenter sang, "don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear. . . " so why did i post it? because 1. It's only fair that more should suffer than just me, and 2. Late winter snow storm last night in the detroit area 3-3-23 around 9pm est. Was attempting to record thundersnow but by the time i found my batteries the thunder and lightning stopped. I needed the sound of a plastic recycle bin being rolled out to the curb. I set my zoom h1n on the sidewalk at the end of my driveway and - in two trips - rolled the cans out to the curb. You will hear me walking to the cans in the right channel, the garbage bin is rolled from the right channel to the center-left. Then repeat for the recycle bin.

This is a recording made from the balcony of my apartment in italy in the province of rieti, the other evening during the two-hour new year's barrels. From 11 they gradually begin to increase gradually until midnight when they get really strong, then gradually decrease gradually until ten to one, when you hear all silence. This recording was done with my iphone 11 connected to the shure mv88 plus digital stereo microphone.

You can hear people passing by and talking (mostly polish language, but also some others), some footsteps on snow (the middle part was cleaned, but there was some snow on the sides), bicycles, and a wheeled trash bin used by garbage man. This was recorded in a university building in melbourne in 2018. It was after hours, in the evening, so the building was mostly empty. I was in a hallway that had lots of hard surfaces including linoleum floors. I could hear a baby crying in a room that was several metres away. This recording is mostly reverb and its very atmospheric. I just recorded it with my smartphone, but it was such a great sound that i had to get it!.

Sounds of trains passing above an art atelier in brussels, belgium; the room is right below the railway, so you can hear trains making different kinds of rumbles and noises from the other side of the ceiling. It was recorded with a tascam hd-p2 recorder and a sennheiser mkh50 directional microphone. I selected only the train-passing moments, there is a metal door shaking on the background and maybe some traffic, but i think it's cool enough. (:.

It's a recording i made while having troubles with my nose. Kind of disgusting recording, but might be a lot of fun to play with. This is the sound of brownyan noise, made with audacity program. Stereo of this noise created with amplitude at the default value, also with fade in and out effects added for the good results. Using headphones is the best way to hear low frequencies of this noise. Also this sound can be use for tinnitus problems or masking unwanted noises. Well, i wanted to do add a sound to my recording of a chicken in a barn. I put the mic (zoom h2 - 4ch-around) outside on the ground and threw some corn around it, so that the chickens will walk around it and hopefully make some noise. The chickens are very chilled, so there are just clucking smoothly and you can hear them walking around. Further there some flies flying close to the mic, some birds and stuff. . . :-).
