4,784 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Hit"

This was recorded from my windowsill facing onto a tarmac driveway in august 2012. There is the occasional tinkling sound of raindrops hitting a metal gate, some traffic noise, the occasional bit of thunder, and some shouts of people getting wet. At the end, raindrops start falling onto the recorder. This is fairly heavy rain by oxford standards; we probably get something like this only a couple of times a year. This fall turned into hail a bit later. Recorded with a marantz pmd661.

Another of the recordings i did on my phone at work of a steel cable at tension between phone poles. Hitting it with a wrench and making laser sounds. Cleaned up in audacity as the other one was. One is better than the other but can't remember which one i liked the best. Use as you please. If you use it for something and have the time to tell me where it ended up, that's cool. Either way, enjoy.

I got caught in a freak rainstorm whilst hiking a bit ago, but luckily had packed my h6 in my bag and was able to get some good little rain snippets! there's some super close sounding droplets hitting leaves, some wider pouring rain, and a bit of hand-held noise unfortunately, but i figured there's a little something for everyone here!. Recorded on zoom h6n with xy 120 degree pair.

This sound was recorded with an ipod touch (5th gen). I was in need of some sword sound effects for a project i'm working on, and after i made these, i figured i'd give them away for free here on freesound!. The sound you hear is actually just a couple of large kitchen spatulas clashing together.

I created this machine gun sound effect quite by accident. I was synthesizing a snare drum in fl_studio using multiple synth layers, effects and automation trying to create a really short and snappy snare and set the loop length really short by mistake and when i hit play to audition my sound i thought it resembled machine gun fire. So anyway enjoy and feel free to use it in your game or whatever way you want.

File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. A recording of anything i could do with two empty 1,5 l plastic bottles. A lot of sounds you can squeeze from a plastic bottles. Just no sounds of opening and closing a s i didn't have the caps. Recorded with a zoom h2, rear mics. The recording was done in a small room with a thinc carpet, there is soem natural short reverb but not too bad. Very little background noise. Converted to flac using audacity.

This is a whole lot of longsword-on-longsword sounds. I was specifically trying to get nice sounds for "winding", when two swords are pushed back and forth and around each other as opponents look for an opening. There are also some "binding" sounds, when the two swords first clash. Some of these binding noises did peak the mic. None of these binding noises were the swords hitting at full force - they are all weaker binds. Pick and choose the noises you like to build your sword fight foley.

I went to a spot where traffic will slow down, stop and take off and drive at 60kms during peak. (going like consists of setting an oscillator to sine with just a release tail and noise + a lowpass snapping up and trailing off gently + compression/distortion of some sort + high frequency shelf snapping down from high gain and then back up).

Location: charlotte douglas international airporttime: april 2015. A strong storm hit charlotte, north carolina, and flights got delayed or canceled. The gates got crowded and people were restless. Lots of airline announcements, people talking on their cell phones, airport electric cart beeps, voices in english and a few words here and there in spanish, etc. Don't remember if this was recorded using the zoom h1 or h5 with the xyh-5 x/y microphone capsule.

A metal bridge over two pontoon piers is squeaking in the light waves of the elbe river at the hamburg city ferry terminal "fischmarkt", sound of the waves hitting the pier are audible as well. Blends well with the other 2 recordings of the "hamburg city harbour" pack. Recorded with a spaced stereo pair of km184 into a sd788t, 48khz, 24bit.

Field recording of a train ride in the western outskirts of paris. I wanted to capture what passengers actually hear when they take that train. It's a bombardier regional train with diesel engine. This is simportant because it gives this particular train a distinctive acoustical fingerprint: you can hear engine bursts (a bit like a bus hitting the gas) no electrical train does that. . . It also has a nice roaring drone. Recorded with a zoom h2n in stereo x/y mode.

While fooling around with the beat repeat plugin in ableton one day, i noticed it would do this cool rhythmic decrescendo whenever i would hit "repeat". But not when i would export! so i just kept messing around with a simple hi-hat loop with audacity running in the background. I've cut down and sampled this recording many times, think it's time i let it go to see what the internet can do with it ;).

Everything from a dimension travel to someone hitting their head and tripping out into another world. It would be very fun if you left a comment on how you used this, i would be interested to hear. Given the cc0 license, you don't have to credit me of course, it is in the public domain after all, but i wouldn't exactly come complaining if you did!.

50 claps made in blok modular from scratch. Supposed to sound very unrealistic/dry/drum machine-like as possible so you don't have to sample the real thing. Some of these use asymmetric waveshaping which adds dc offset (0 hz noise) so you may want to highpass the crustier ones. I would've uploaded a zip of the individual hits but because of the way freesound works you'll have to chop it up yourself.
