Ou can hear the audible sounds of an airplane flying above my house going west towards the beach, the airplane getting closer and closer to my house then flying away aggressively. You can hear the graceful chirping of birds, sitting on the telephone line north of my house. You can hear the swift movement of the wind moving around and blowing on the leaves of the tree west of my house in the neighbor’s yard. You can hear the movement of me walking around back and forth in my yard listening to all the sounds trying to hear them clearly. You can hear a car drive down my street going east, the car was very heavy and going very slow.

The aircraft applies thrust for take-off at 0:28 and leaves the ground at 1:16. At 3:08 the english in-flight announcement is broadcast. This was recorded in-person from my seat with a tascam dr-40. Sound of footsteps (hiking boots) in an artificial stone tunnel about 4 to 5 metres in diameter in brezzo di bedero (northern italy). The tunnel is part of the structures of the 'cadorna' defence line, dating back to wwi, and leads to an artillery emplacement in a cave. Sound of footsteps and crunching gravel under the soles, with a slight echo and reverberation from the cave environment. Perfect for creating eerie, natural and industrial backgrounds and first-person vr experiences. Recorded with a zoom h1n held in hand while walking and pointed towards the feet.

I stood quite sheltered from the wind, above me the rustling trees from the breeze that was just blowing. In the distance a dog was barking. Nice stereo effect :-). The recording is edited. Hitting the pots and pans around the cupboard a few times, some saucepan lids leave ringing. Mostly clean of ambience.

A peaceful, drowsy-ish recording of a midwestern usa large field bordered by heavy forest. This was recorded in mid summer, on a very hot day. Temperature was 90 degrees, but, with 45% humidity it was manageable. The good thing about this recording is i was far enough away from humanity's engines to get no cars, no boats, no loud. . . . Anything. Well, except the insect chorus. This is the time of year in illinois that autumn is getting imperceptibly closer. The skies are clearer blue with less humidity. . . A few trees had red leaves. Nature taking a breather. Recorded at 2:30pm on thursday august 26, 2022 using a mixpre 6 recorder. Left channel: rode nt5 cardioid microphone. Right channel: sennheiser mkh 416 microphone.

I recording made near some woods of the wind ebbing and flowing on an unusually mild day in late november of 2013. What i find unique about this recording is a lone cricket calling out at various times of this recording. . . Makes for a nice, almost melancholy feeling. It is almost like the cricket is not quite ready to hide away for the winter and is taking advantage of a rare 70-degree november day to call out as if to say "hey, i'm still here, waiting. . . In the grass. ". With headphones on, works wonders in clearing your head. . . Recording made at 6:30 at night with my handy / zoom h4 n recorder using the internal microphones, and of course using a very very stout wind screen. Enjoy.
