Got a group of about 8 people to say "hey!" a few times. Layered all the takes, compressed, and added a touch of reverb. I've used this one a bunch in my own songs. Sometimes, to achieve a convincing gang vocal effect, when i don't have a gang, you can sing your line a few times, and then layer this "hey" under each syllable, and you can get a pseudo-gang vocal. Works in a pinch if your mix is dense enough. I'd love if you'd credit joshua scott or rjc studios if you use this sample, but don't sweat it if you don't. Good artists borrow, great artists steal.

While making an ambient track simulating a fortune teller's caravan, i designed 3 sounds in pro tools by layering and editing presets within ambience and soft pads. They add a bit of magical flare when the tarot card reader turns over a card. This sound can be used for any kind of transition, item acquisition, quest accomplished, or other quick sound effect which needs a light, magical quality. This was all recorded in enumclaw, wa on july 4th, 2013. I used a yamaha pocketrak recorder throughout the day and into evening when the fireworks started. There's an old piano outside the music store and i just caught the end of a young guy playing some nice music. I then just walked down the street recording the sounds. You can hear me talking to a guy who's working for a local politician. The b-25 mitchell bomber flyover was totally unexpected and i was lucky to have had the recorder going. This is from a recording session trying to create laser weapon sounds. I just used the same technique as ben burtt used in wall-e (with the slinky and the contact mic). This is unprocessed, no eqs, compression, reverb or anything was added. I used a long piece of curled up aluminum wire which i hung from a tall structure at my house and the main object i used to oscillate the wire was a drum stick. For the recording i used the blue icicle and recorded into reaper. The contact mic is my own creation from a diy i found online (roughly €5 to make). Its a sine wave folded 4 times by a cgs inspired wavefolder module (kinda like the metalizer from the minibrute). The whole thing is then modulated with an external function generator that controls amount and frequency of modulation. This is what came out and it's pure junky drone noises, so goddamn nasty. Absolutely love them. Feel completely free to sample this and use it for your own purposes. This is a diy synthesizer i'm building and unfortunately it is still a prototype, but i'm gonna finish it soon and hope to sell it. Cool indeed, isn't it?.

This is the ambience i created for my sci-fi sitcom accidentally reckless of a dropship of some kind approaching a battlefield (and certain death). The bare bones was created from a field recording of the x-1 bus going down attercliffe road towards sheffield city centre, during a period in 2017 when they were constantly resurfacing the stretch that goes past the swingers club, resulting in the bone shaking rattling sounds you can hear. I then layered on some laser and rocket noises (already uploaded) and some engine type sound effects and shuttle flypast effects that i don't think i've uploaded yet. My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. Zoom h4n 2018 - onboard microphones. This is an unprocessed recording of the pilot light being repeatedly lit and then extinguished on a natural gas fire globe. This would be perfect for the sound of any gas device being lit such as a grill, boiler, pool heater, water heater, stove, oven, etc. . . I have give you many variations to choose from and provided some audio of the flame once lit that can be easily looped. This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 subaru impreza wrx with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different rpms. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over. As always, i love knowing how people use my tracks! i'd appreciate a comment letting me know what kind of project you're doing and, if possible, a link to any finished work! thanks.

One of my favorite spots to hike in illinois has this quite long, and beautiful and rock-lined beautiful creek. Now, even though this creek is in heavy forest, which often leads to very low water levels during the summer, this creek is spring fed so it always has a beautiful ribbon of pure water running 12 months out of the year. I've spent many minutes and countless hours beside this living, breathing water-course pondering the beauty of nature, and reflecting back on my childhood. A childhood filled with much love and many creek adventures. This was recorded on march 8 2021, at a time in the midwest woods when the mayapples are popping up-- lime green umbrellas spotting the forest floor. The beautiful, simple call of the field cricket is one of my favorite insect sounds. In late summer though the huge choruses of katydids and cicadas often drown out the simple beauty of this love song. Later, as the season progresses into fall and the temps dip to where the cicadas and katydids no longer sing, these simple, beautiful field cricket calls still last up to the time that the days just can't stay warm any longer. I like to see how late into the season i can hear these guys---something just hauntingly mesmerizing hearing this sound and no other on a mild autumn day, after a cold night. . I was fortunate enough to capture this recording on september 4th 2013 in my backyard. Recording made around 4:30 in the morning with my h4n recorder using its internal built-in microphones.

Sucking my lips together, and then opening my mouth, 2. Bringing lips back together and forcing air out 3. A summer evening in a vineyard by the german town of freyburg on unstrut. The recording abounds with natural background noises (wind in trees, birds, insects). In the foreground, a little bird is singing, giving it all it has. I am no bird expert, but if somebody knows what species it is, i'd love to know. At 3:22 into the recording, the tower bells of the keep of neuenburg castle, located on the hill opposite, toll 9 o'clock. They do this by tolling a high bell 4 times, once for each quarter of the full hour, followed by a lower bell tolling the hour 9 times. The recorder is located on the top of the vineyard, facing across the valley between vineyard and castle. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2, mic's set to 120° dispersion.

While attempting to create a sick ass dubstep wob noise in rob papen's albino synth plugin, i managed to stumble across a telephone-like sound while pitching the filter cutoff on a weird shaped wave oscillator. I then put down the dubstep tune, and exported the noise with a gradual huge reverb at the end just for fun. I hope you enjoy it and i'd love to hear if someone uses it and in what context!. I think i used stereo mics that came with my h5. Recorded on top of a parking garage right next to the airport. I caught this great sound early in the morning before city traffic could get busy enough to ruin the recording. Enhanced with ozone 6 and removed some bassy wind noise with rx5. One of my favorite summer and late-summer sounds. The night-hawk is the star of this recording. This recording was made around 9pm at night in mid-august and, even though i never could see this nighthawk, his calls pierced through the night-sky to let me know he was up there, somewhere, orbiting on the prowl for mosquitos and other insects. I have always loved this sound ever since i was a kid and going to sleep at night i felt comforted knowing that, like some circling fighter jet, the nighthawks would be on the job, plowing down the population of mosquitos, while i slept all night. Recording actually made in the parking lot of a major midwest university around 9pm at night on august 19th, 2014. Our neighbors fought a lot. Usually at around 2am and it would go on for about an hour or two. Besides being angry and annoyed, my girlfriend and i were always curious as to what they could possibly be fighting about. I had the idea to record them via a long mic cable stretching down the hallway, strategically hidden behind a few pieces of wood, to their apartment door. My plan was to one day play this from my stereo at a loud volume around 2am. As i later thought this through i realized that this would only disturb my other quiet neighbors and was a fairly selfish act. Anyway, i used a $100 audio-technica stereo mic and recorded it directly into my computer as an. Aiff. They seem to be arguing about a stereo and someone not loving the other. It's rather sad. We no longer live in that building so i have no idea what became of them. I hope they are happier now. Enjoy.

Recorded on a small olympus device, set next to an open sleeve of stale saltines. You can hear her in the plastic packaging grabbing mouthfuls and chewing the crackers all up. She dips into the sleeve of crackers 3 or 4 times in this recording and smacks her chops after eating it all. Sorry about her collar chiming as dog's tags tend to, i just had to record that big mouthed crunch. I've removed the loud plastic rustling sounds, to focus more on the crunching sounds as she munches on snack crackers. Great for dog food or puppy chow commercials or for a film of a beast eating at charred crispy remains.
