This is a dirt track in alabama (monster mountain, i think). I didn't realize my recorder kicked on as i was carrying it around in my pocket. The result was some really good audio of a dirt bike race, along with a little bit of small crowd sounds.

Title Christian Mass, Prelude, Organ play and singing Artist stephan Original mp3 data Length:1:56 minutes (2.21 MB) Format:MP3 Stereo 44kHz 160Kbps (CBR) User tags Christianity, Church, ecumenical, Hymn, Mass, Music, Organ play, Parish, People, Prelude, Religion, singing Type Single Subject, Natural PDSounds record number 291 Comment May 27, 2007 - Church of Christ the King (1927), Leverkusen, Germany. Prelude to the mass. First the organ plays alone, while some people are still taking their seats in the pews. Then the parishioners start to sing (a bit reluctantly) with the organ play. The song has been shortened by me from 4 strophes to 1. Many thanks to minister and organist of this mass for the permission to record.

H.M.S. Pinafore performed with the following cast: Willie Rouse (Sir Joseph Porter, K.C.B.) Harry Dearth (Captain Corcoran/Boatswain's Mate) Walter Hyde (Ralph Rackstraw) Harry Thornton (Dick Deadeye) Alfred Cunningham (Dick Deadeye/Boatswain's Mate) W. Anderson (Carpenter's Mate) Elsa Sinclair (Josephine/Cousin Hebe) Ada Florence (Mrs. Cripps, called "Little Buttercup") Miss Burnett (Cousin Hebe) There is some disagreement about who the performers are in various parts, as explained by Mark Shepherd. Not to be confused with the Russell Hunting/Sterling selections from Pinafore dating from the same year and using some of the same performers. The performance cuts the overture, the entr'acte, "A British Tar" and part of the Act I finale. Some portions are transposed from their original keys.

On March 11, 2018, the Marine Band presented a Living History program titled Marine Corps Women’s Reserve Band Tribute. The program told the story of the talented and adventurous women who served our country in a most unique and unprecedented manner. Author of the book Bands of Sisters: U.S. Women’s Military Bands During World War II, Dr. Jill Sullivan served as a guide through the personal accounts of those very women who blazed a trail for many to follow. The Marine Corps Women’s Reserve Band of Camp Lejeune was established under the watch of 'The President’s Own' to support bond drives and was active during World War II from 1943–45. In 1944, the ensemble even sat in for one of the Marine Band’s popular 'Dream Hour' broadcasts, a program that will be reenacted in its entirety as part of this concert. The performance took place in Schlesinger Concert Hall at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Va. Conducted by Capt. Michelle A. Rakers.

The Gnostic Bible* (eds. Willis Barnstone and Marvin Meyer) From chapter "Early Wisdom Gospels", section "The Gospel of Thomas" "Yeshua said to them, When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom." The Gospel of Thomas is a Coptic text with many different variations. This version (from the Gnostic Bible) is the most likely source for these two titles, based on what we know of BoH's interest in religion and how exactly the phrases match.
