Opening and closing an old metal hatch in our basement. The hatch is locked by two handles. The first two creaks are the handles being turned, the last creak is the hatch itself. At around 0:10, the hatch is closed again and the two handles are turned to closed position. Recorded using a no-name directional microphone. I am playing the dripping-pan (there are different beats and impacts, it sounds like a gong). Recorded on zoom h6 with sennheiser 416 mic.

I decided to experiment with a metal slinky, with the intention of creating some science-fiction sounds. Here is a string out of what could potentially be used as "laser gun shots". There are a variety of individual shots, and at the latter-half of the clip i attempted to create a cross-fire gun fight. Some editing, including noise reduction may improve what i've done here. *recorded on may 09, 2021 using a sennheiser shotgun mic and a zoom h4n pro (and a shower, of course).

I needed a sound effect for an audio project, specifically the sound of someone moving around in a bathtub full of water and ice. Being too lazy to go out and get a carpload of ice cubes, i raided the ice-maker in the refrigerator and built up a stockpile, then dumped them all into the metal kitchen sink, added some water and a few empty ice cube trays for flavor, and stirred them about using a glass mixing bowl and a wooden spoon.

Four quiet clangs, recording in a brick stairwell. I hit the metal railing of the staircase and let the sound ring. Sounds kind of eerie and distant, like something you'd hear in a factory or maybe on a big iron ship or submarine. Recorded with a zoom h4n.

Recording of myself playing a home-made instrument constructed from a large suspended metal door affixed with bits of thin aluminum sheeting of varying sizes and bent at varying angles. I "played" this by striking and plucking the bits of aluminum and recording the results through a piezo contact mic adhered to the door.
