This is a digitally synthesized version of the sound produced by current choppers on board the "jeumont element 041/042 train" used in the montreal metro. It is a five-note sequence of tones (90 hz, 120 hz, 180 hz, 240 hz, 360 hz) produced as the train accelerates out of the station. I could not make a recording of the actual jeumont train as the train was scrapped in 2018, which was before i even made my account!.

This is how lost my shoes at the mexico city metro, it was almost like the scene in the harry potter's movies when they get into a looping parallel dimension until you get out in another dimension, yes i really felt i went into another dimension inside the metro and that's the exact sound from when it happened. Silent subway station located in alameda da universidade, lisbon. This was recorded on march 9th of 2020 after a lot of people were sent home because of covid-19. This metro station is very loud on the large majority of days, however on this particular day the silence was all you could hear while waiting for the train.

I stood on the platform at the montrose l station with a sony minidisc and recorded the entire process of a nyc subway train coming and going.
