I tried to make a friction drum by stringing a med handglove membrane to a wooden mortar. That mostly failed; i couldn’t control the pitch and make continuous sound. Here the membrane is stroked by a wooden pestle, making quite annoying sounds. Recorded with redmi note 5 phone, denoised and filtered bogus sub bass in audacity.

Com/), and then heavy modulated using lots of bandpass & notch filtering automation, pitch automation, distortion, resampling, & multiband compression. Skewer slam is a combination of my knife sharpening sounds and metallic impacts/wobblers (some not yet uploaded here!) to create a sesnsation of something big, intense and lethal coming towards whoever it either find offensive or is ambulatory. As a personal note; the distortion you hear is not because of clipping in the initial recording but because of the higher acoutistic resonance and limiters applied which will not sound like this when downloaded.

Another very old production, i think this one's from around 2009 even!. Using the reverb of a chord i made on my guitar i created a drone-y, washed out sound. Added some subtle bitcrushed drums, cymbals and a vst synthesizer plays some notes to fill it out a bit, and a dark brooding bass-like instrument pulls up near the end of the track.
