The sound of heavy rain on the metal casing of an air conditioner. Also some soft thunder and my dad clanking around in another room. Recorded 4 miles north of lisbon, oh during a june 16 thunderstorm. I recorded this with my cad u1 usb mic and my toshiba laptop using audacity.

Recording of 6 inch ac bell on 50hz supply. Using akg 451 and matu 828-3 interface. Typcall of bell used for school lesson change. Mic plaaced about 30 cm from bell. On carpet floor.

Ambient of an apartment where the ac unit is running, the tv has been left on, and the residents have fallen asleep.

Recorded a rain storm with mxl-990 condenser mic, mono. It's inside the window by the ac window unit, so you can hear loud rain on the ac unit.

Smooth rain falling on the air conditioner. Recorded indoor near the closed window. Bit of cars passing by. Near the end of the sound file, larger water drops fall on the ac.

Air conditioner unit outside. Recorded on top of an apartment complex. Goes through different cycles! great to chop up or use for background ambiance.

I decided to go out for the night so i thought it would be a good idea to have my sound recorder going for around 3 minutes. My ac turned on a little after. I caught a few things like fire truck sirens, and some sort of ear ringing sound. Not sure where that came from but it happened. My window air-conditioner on the fan setting. Fan turns on for a few secs and shuts off. Recorded on yeti usb microphone on the stereo setting. Microphone was placed about 6 inches from the unit, right below the top vents where the air comes out. Some very low frequency rumble was attenuated slightly.

Noise of a solar power dc-ac inverter on a sunny day. A static hum with some kind of a rhythmic modulation. Sometimes other noises like a bird singing outside, however mostly the pure sound of the inverter. Recorded x/y stereo with at4041 mics into a pmd661 recorder. Eqed in fabfilter, there used to be a sine beep at 15. 8khz, inaudible for many people but it would have been even more annoying for those who can still hear it.

Weird sound the air vent in my bathroom was making with the ac on. Recorded with samsung a32 phone and voice recorder app. Tried different positions around the vent to get with and without the airflow on the mic. Sounds like some sort of old electronics humming? maybe a didgeridoo far away?.

My vcr rewinding a vhs tape. Sounds pretty gnarly at the end. Recorded with a jm27 into my zoom h4n. As a side note, this sound was a real pain to record. Every time i set up the mic, it seemed like the ac would come on, the dog would bark, or some other sound would ruin the recording. Whatever, i got it done.

This jump scare sound was created by playing 2 dissonant chords on a single coil telecaster mic'd up w/ a vox ac 10 amp. The two guitar tracks are panned left and right- reverb and delay are added. Additionally, frequency enhancers were added between 4khz - 6khz which adds a higher tonal energy in the upper range of the guitar. Gain is added which can be heard as signal noise mostly at the end of the clip. Enjoy. Bainmack.

A recording of a high school class. Students were working on a sound effects project on computers, but generally allowed to talk as they worked. This is maybe 18 students, with the mic about 10 feet away from the nearest student, mic towards one side of the room, pointed towards the middle. We also have ac on, and an av cart that has a fan on, plus a wall clock, some of which you may not be able to hear over the students. Mic was the zoom h1 set to record a wav file, record level manual, low pass filter engaged, with the quality settings at the highest values. It was then put through audacity to amplify it to the highest allowable levels without distorting, and spit out as a wav.

This is a first in a series of noises from machines. I work at a company that prints and packages things like decals and parts on cars. This is the noise of the printer making some sort of thumping noise, as it was broken at the time and hadn’t gotten to be fixed. If you’re wondering what hat terrible whirring is in the background, that is the combined noise of about a dozen large machines operating as well as the ac and it’s pretty commonplace there. Sorry about that, hope you can still use the recording anyway :).

My mother's house is the keeper of a trend by sligh grandfather clock named bonnie. Each time i pass by it, i admire the sound. I decided to capture it. It's mostly a clean recording outside of the occasional bird chirp or atmospheric sound. Easy to clean up, edit, and loop. Enjoy!. Recorded using an oktava mk-012-01 through a focusrite scarlett 2i2 audio interface; captured at 96k 32bit float, and bounced down to 48k/24bit in pro tools on windows 11. The mic was placed about two inches away, perpendicular to the face of the clock with the dial window open. The only processing i applied was a fabfilter proq3 48db/oct low cut at 110hz to eliminate of some of the room/ac rumble.
