This is a short clip from an intense thunderstorm, recorded from my second story queens apartment from an open bathroom window during the early afternoon of july 15, 2015. Some traffic and airplanes can be heard in the background. This clip was recorded using an apple iphone 6 and the zoom iq6 x/y stereo microphone with a rode dead kitten windscreen at low volume, normalized later. This recording lasts until the battery on my iphone hit 5%, at which point the zoom handy recorder app automatically stopped.

A slow, fingerpicked chord progression on a 6-string guitar. I recorded this using my zoom h4n recorder and some external, stereo microphones. The microphones were the samson c0-2 and i had them mounted on two separatemicrophone stands: 1 was pointed at my left hand on the fret board to hopefully get the finger-squeaks, and the other microphone was pointed right above the sound-hole about 3 inches above the opening. What a storm last night! it was already dark outside as i saw lighting in the distance. It was kind of a scary situation but for sound i thought it will be awesome! i opened the balcony door and rolled down the 30 years old window blind ( i have a sound of this blind here on the channel) behind the window blind i started recording how the rain hammered against the blind! you can also listen to the wind between the units on this blind! i also recorded with the go pro the outside so that you can see the thunder, the rain and the lightning!.
