Sounds like the jaws theme song bass sound. These sounds are actually an xm with a changed file extension to. Wav, and then loaded into a wav editor which converted it to a readable format. I then removed the unbelievable noise to see what i ended up with. After that, i cut out the parts that sort of sounded cool and these are some of the ones i am willing to let everyone have.

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to c sharp, the notes from top to bottom are g sharp, a sharp, c sharp, low c sharp. In traditional indian tuning the c sharp is the root note (first note in the scale) and referred to as sa. The fifth note (g sharp in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (a sharp) is dha. The pack contains recordings of the more traditional pa-sa-sa-sa type rythmns, as well as some experimenting with short bass lines, riffs and slap bass drones!. Before you say "a tanpura should not be played in such a way" please be comforted by the fact that this is not a traditional tanpura (and will never sound or be able to be played exactly like a traditional tanpura) it is part of the swar sangam, which combines the four drone strings of the tanpura with 15 harp strings. I am only playing the tanpura part in these recordings.

It was made with extraordinary plugins erhu guzheng yangquin and a sense of extraordinary expression, valley reverb, and glides. Authentic expression of chinese traditional instruments is hard to imitate so this scene is very short, but useful. This is the digital belgian railroad crossing alarm sound. The belgian railroad company infrabel replaced all the mechanical bells at railroad crossings with a pulsating digital sound that they claim to be more efficient and safe then the previous analog bell sound. Infrabel made this recording available online as part of a media campaign about the replacement.

This is the second part of an audio filtering project (in general, signal processing). This sample shows a noisy recording of my voice, after transforming the signal using the xft (extended fourier transform), applying a filter to cut some frequencies and later applying the inverse xft. Very seletive recording of a birdsong early in the morning on the begining of april. The city ambience was heavily processed, so when the car appears it sounds quirky. Some bells - first played one by one, then some clusters (i think, if you are looking for the clusters, i have another soudn called more bells, and they are probably there). The bells were part of an art installation from yougoslavian artist stipo pranyko, who was having a retrospective at tea, in santa cruz de tenerife. This was recorded in the big halls of the museum, that's why there's so much reverb. Recorded with a zomm h4 n.

When my band was allowed to record after-hours in an industrial space in west oakland, i took the opportunity to show up early to record some of the machines in action. This is a recording of an industrial embroidery machine as it sews on logos to eight sweatshirts. Unfortunately my recording of the glass etching machine in another part of the building didn't turn out as useful--it sounded pretty crazy. A 6-in-1 brass hammer being dismantled and put back together. I am aware that there are a few "pops" in the sound, but i am not completely sure how to remove them, so i left them there in case someone with more experience in audio editing wants them. The sounds i recorded from the smallest possible parts of the hammer are not included because they were way too quiet to be useful :1.
