Series of sounds in one file, starting from opening a cassette and placing it in the player, playing a bit of a song (it's my song so there's no copyright to worry about), fast forwarding, and playing again. The file ends with removing the cassette from the player and placing it back in the case.
Done entirely on physical scratch recordings, this sound is made to emphasize an old record player in the stereo format. Tascam dr07 mk2, 24bit 96khz, stereo a-b pattern. Much luck!.
About a dozen or so pieces of music from an antique orchestrion which features a player piano, pipe organ, drums, violin, marimba and other instruments. A very lively selection of music.
Cheap no-name tape player playing a cassette during a squeaky moment. I opened the walkman-esque player for this and put the zoom h2n recorder directly on top of the tape being played. Hold up, let me take a picture. Less weird version: https://freesound. Org/people/qubodup/sounds/622237/.
Cheap no-name tape player playing a cassette during a squeaky moment (quite a long moment, this has been going on for at least 10 minutes by now - time for some wd40?). The zoom h2n recorder was standing next to the walkman style player. Slightly weirder version: https://freesound. Org/people/qubodup/sounds/622236/.
Close up recording of a cd player being turned on and spinning up. Thought it made a few cool noises so hopefully someone gets a use for it. Recorded with an aphex 207d and a rode nt2.
I opened a box, went through the cassette tapes, took one out, took the tape out of the plastic box, inserted it in the cassette player, pressed play, then pressed stop. Mono recording.
Super retro tape deck sound effect from a cassette player in a car. It has the click and reel sound effect, like you just popped a tape in and its starting.
Stopped in a tiny museum in kansas and the curator turned on the 1900s edison photograph for me and let me record the classic sound of music with all the hums and associated scratches. The music sounds like an old turn of the century carnival to me. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. Com - shout-outs welcome.
Stopped in a tiny museum in kansas and the curator turned on the 1900s edison photograph for me and let me record the classic humming, scratchy sound of a turntable turning. The steady rhythm had a very "bioshock infinite" feel to me, and i loved it. Nice to put under music to make it sound old. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. Com - shout-outs welcome.
only 90's kids will remember. . The sound of a generic car-stereo tape-deck's motor. Slightly eq'd to narrow the spectral range of the low-quality recording device. Recorder: smartphonedate & time: ?location: fremont, ca (usa).
Shree Neelotpala Naayike, in the raga Reethigowlai. A composition by Muthuswamy Dikshitar. The rendition was part of the Smt Kalpakam Swaminathan memorial concert at Naada Inbam, Chennai.
Just some noise of my casio as-51r cassette player i had left over when i had taken what i was after from my recordings. Perhaps there's some use for it, i honestly don't know, but i thought i would upload in case someone needs it. Recorded with a samsung galaxy s21, edited with audacity 2. 4. 2.
