On deck aboard a baltic sea car ferry bound from rostock/germany to trelleborg/sweden. It is late evening, and the ferry is cruising clear of the harbor into the open sea. The recording features the ambient noise on deck, mainly the drone of the ship and it's diesels, some sea in the background, and the occasional door opening and closing. Recorded with a zoom h2n. Field recording of the ocean surf at the outer banks, nc. Recorded approximately ten yards from the surf line on a zoom hand held recorder mounted under a beach umbrella. Record mode was 4 mic, using front and rear stereo mic pairs summed to stereo mix. Front (90 degree) mics facing ocean, (east). Rear (120 degree) mics facing the dunes, (west). Was a somewhat large surf day with shoulder to overhead sets. Enjoy ;)!.

Bell tower of the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception. Recorded on the catholic university of america campus with a zoom h2 in four channel surround mode. The front mikes faced the basilica. The rear mikes were fairly close to a building and captured an off axis recording of the original peals while the reflection off the building was on axis and is louder than the original peal. The two files can be combined for a surround image.
