The atmospheric conditions of that night, along with the lack of other noise allowed sounds to be heard much further than they normally would. The reason it is monoaural is because it is easier to record singular sources in monoaural without having too much stereo variance in the recording which can if improperly recorded cause clipped audio on one side of the channel (though this reduces the width and dimensionality of a sound sample - this also makes it easier for (independent) game developers and film projects to place the sound.

An impulse response, made with vital softsynth, simulating the responce of a bunch of strings tuned to notes of bohlen—pierce scale. Specifically, a middle ground between 13 equal divisions of a tritave (interval 3/1) and the just-intonation bohlen—pierce scale. (for no particular reason. ). Convolving with this might add some xen flavor to your sounds, even if you play in standard tuning 12edo. I tried it with surge xt’s hammered dulcimer patch (i love hammered dulcimer!) and heard some additional shimmering.

This is a basic dubstep beat. It was done in reason 7. It is useful in that it shows you a good way to construct a beat. It consists of four 4-bar measures, each progressing from the previous. I recorded my small house dog being scared. She's always scared for whatever reason and decides to whine. It is a very interesting sound because it almost like she's growling. It was a very cold and windy day when i visited the mile high swinging bridge at the top of grandfather mountain. Unfortunately, i did not have a windscreen, so there is a bit of noise in the recording of the "singing" bridge. The reason i say "singing" is that the high winds were blowing through the 228-foot long suspension bridge bars making a haunting sort of song. It is considered the highest suspension footbridge in north america at just over a mile high.

This is a narrated sound-walk near my house. I will not add a geotag for the very reason of privacy. This is for an assignment for the music appreciation course of loyola high school. I heard music of justin bieber in a house nearby. I do not know what song title it was. I heard birds cawing from time to time in the skies above me. I also heard cars passing by, creating a sound called doppler effect. I can also hear the footsteps that i was making.

Results from running randomly-generated neural networks (all weights in neuron connections start random and then slowly drift when generating). Although sample rates used are 44. 1 and 48 khz, sounds pretty lo-fi. The reason could be input compression needed for network to actually work. Each sound channel is an output from two separate neurons in the network. Each sample in this pack is generated by a separate network, as they wasn’t saved anywhere after they produce a thing. Global parameters (output compression, neuron count, drift rate etc. ) aren’t the same from sample to sample, too.

In australian ice cream vans most commonly play greensleeves for some reason, and they all use crappy amplifiers cranked up as loud as they'll go, so the result is something like this. I made the recording in the town of denholm in scotland. In the recording you can hear fireworks, firecrackers. You can also hear the sounds of conversations in the crowd, screams of children, the sounds of a burning fire. On november 5 this year people across the uk light bonfires, let off fireworks, and burn effigies of a man named guy fawkes. The reason we do this is because it’s the anniversary of the gunpowder plot (1605); a failed attempt to blow up the houses of parliament in london by a group of dissident catholics.

I recorded this at late night in a rural german area at summer, approximately 150 - 200 meters away from the party (the party took place on a big and open field). The wind was blowing away from the people towards me, which is the reason, why you can hear the people well, even though there were trees between the people and the recording micorphone. Mabe you can hear a few cars very far in the distance along with the near taxis, picking the people up to take them home, too.

Alarm bell from a bank robbery. Taken from the 1956 film "no road back" starring paul carpenter and margaret rawling and directed by montgomery tully. From my understanding and research of copyright law, this film was never copyrighted, as it came out before july 1957, which is when the british first started to have copyrights for film and broadcast. Any films or broadcasts that came out before july 1957 in the uk are not copyrighted. If it turns out that for some reason i am wrong, i am happy to take this recording down, but i've looked into it pretty extensively and i'm pretty sure i'm in the clear here.

A little scary sumthin' sumthin' i made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. It starts with a steady drumbeat before the main melody comes in, played on a kid piano. For some reason toy instruments are the spookiest. Woohaa!i put some chords in a lot of reverb between that repeating melody. A semi-rare and priceless recording (at least to me) of a whippoorwill; a bird who, unfortunately, is declining in many areas of the country. This recording contains more hiss than many of my existing nature recordings, but i still want to post it so you can get sample of this wonderful signature sound of summer woods at dusk. Recording made in the shawnee national forest in late may of 2010 using my zoom h4n recorder. I used an audio technica at8035. I was trying out this microphone. This particular microphone does have a narrow acceptance angle, which is probably 1 reason for the hissiness. Still, go out in the summer woods around dusk sometime and maybe you will get lucky and hear this beautiful little bird whose distinctive calls have livened up the woods for generations of many youngsters – including me!.

A snippet of a crowd cheering a win after a football or sports match. Quite short, 20 seconds long and good quality. Recorded using tascam dr-05 inside my hooded jumper sleeve, still quite crisp sounding. This file was recorded on november 19 2013 at london's euston railway station quite close to the arrivals board. It was achieved using an olympus ls-100 digital recorder with cad m179 microphones attached to a jecklin disk (see wikipedia) to obtain the best sound possible. As opposed to quasi-binaural recordings where the user attaches small diaphragm microphones to his/her shirt collar (my usual recording method), the jecklin disk can be mounted on a semi-fixed object such as a floor-standing microphone stand which it was in this case, and left for a few moments for the best possible outcome. Using a jecklin disk means that there are no minute movements from a person trying to stand as still as possible, and for some unknown reason, this setup is able to differentiate in front and behind sound image although i personally do not know why this is the case.

When i was eight years old my older brother told me to go play in traffic. I'm well-known for taking dares and mostly getting away with it, and i did! the only reason it freaked him out was because if i'd gotten hurt, he would have been in trouble. Ah, family. In honor of my stupid bro i decided to capture this sound for you. My friend asked if i'd gotten my recording and i, being myself, complained that although i'd gone out in daylight wearing a halter and short-shorts, no one had even slowed down to look. "take it to the next level," he said. "walk right out on the interstate in the nude. ”i smiled. "think i'd stop traffic?""oh, for sure. Truckers are curious, and most of them have never seen a dumb naked bitch smushed on the concrete, still clutching her iphone. "what fun is life if you can't laugh? coming soon: “fapping with sandpaper. Wav”.

The piano piece is one of orangefreesounds' many beautiful looping piano melodies. I added some effects and an ambient mellotron using the free, but stunning redtron se vst instrument, which uses recorded samples of a real mellotron. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic mellotron sound. . . Please excuse the rough start, the reason why it sounds so weird is because it is a prefect loop, that means that everything, including all the effects, loops perfectly. What you hear in the very start is the reverb and delay effects from the end carrying over to the start. It will sound completely seamless once looped!. . It might not sound good as a preview, so i recommend to download and listen to it on your own device, as the website has a bad habit of compressing and adding a bunch of annoying squeaking sounds to the audio. .

I often look for voice clips here on freesound, and there's just some stuff that isn't here. I know i'm not the only one, either, so i post mine as well so others may use them. Interestingly, i've gotten one person who took the time to uh. . . Tell me how they. . . Disapproved of my voice clips, so i just wanted to say that if you wanna use them, do, if not, don't, that's why they are there. I enjoy animating, and others do too, wanting to use others' voice clips. I also had a couple people make techno remixes of a lot of my sounds (thank you by the way, they're awesome). It's not that i care about the. . . Interesting way the one person expressed their opinion, it's just to let some similar acting people know that i post these for a reason. *shrug* but whatever floats your zeppelin, i honestly don't care. Anyway, for those who do use them, thank you. :p.

This is an upload for a sample request (http://www. Freesound. Org/forum/sample-requests/32975/ ) for a person who wanted a haunting melody with some layers in the key of g# / ab. I am not a melody guy, so i don't know if i've got the notes right or if the piece may even fit the description of what the guy wants, but here it is!. Edit (mar 2018): no need to ask if you need to give me credit. Up to you. Just continue your amazing work with sounds & music. ;). Specs: 80bpm, 48000 hz, 24 bit, wav format, (i think it is in the key of g# / ab), original file name - haunting tone in g# abinstruments used (all found in reason 5 soundbank; all virtual): "a" piano, grand piano, pizzicato strings, violin, a random ghost layer synthesized in maelstrom graintable synthesizer, double basseffects used: a little equalization here and there; a little bit of delay on the pizzicato strings; volume automation.
