This series is done through layering and processing many samples of drum sounds i synthesised using various plugins namely xoxo's vst's and zynaddsubfx mixed with some old hardware samples i made a long time ago. There are 4 packs of the same series : perc snare kick and hats all using the same process.

This first loop in series is a simple, beat in 4/4 time run at 140 bpm. It features an extremely thick bass sound with general techno patterns you might hear in normal techno music. The pack is aimed for general use in any type of techno, trance music. The loop was created mainly with reaktor's arobic.

This is a set of drum set interpretations of the baião pattern. Kit used was a 16" kick, dampened, but not stuffed to sound more like a surdo, a 14" ludwig snare, one riveted ride cymbal and hi hats. Simply recorded with a single sm57 but they are clear sounding loops. I'd be interested in hearing anything you use them in :).

I used some compression and a bit of eq to make it sound like something you'll hear on a gaming console machine. However, the audio spikes from the high freq took me a while to cut off. Can't figure out why it does that but in my opinion it still sounds good :).

A near chaotic experiment. Im mixing cycling envelopes and lfos to generate triggers. The four sounds are totally unrelated. > bass drum. > snare (or something. . . )> bass. The pitches for the bass are generated withthree mixed lfos. A trigger is generated from the quantizerwhen the cv changed enough to generate a new note inthe selected scale. > ear piercing and annoying sound. Three minutes of more than enough.

I used bdx for the kick, sent through disto-fx and various eq plugins. Cymbalistic was used for the hihats, with further eq and gating placed on it. The snare was from a free sample pack (i can't remember the name of) sent through a resonator, eq plugins and some soft-clippers to give it a bigger sound. Clipmax was used on the master channel.

I created this 64 bar loop in bitwig using a sample loop that comes free with the software, next i used a multiband fx plugin with automation controlling amounts and cutoff's which then in turn had various effects on the seperate bands and as you can clearly hear i used the glitch2 vst mostly on the mid frequencies, which in turn had automation controlling/changing it's presets.

A short segment as i played along with the ramones' song: my brain is hanging upside down. I recorded it on my roland td-9 module and edited it in sony sound forge and sony vegas. There's a slight buzz that i get and i tried to clean it up as best i could with noise reduction. Someday i'll figure out what is causing the buzz. Please comment on what you may use it for. By the way, this morning, i purchased a very interesting book entitled "harmonograph: a visual guide to the mathematics of music" by anthony ashton. I haven't read much of it yet, but it is explaining how eye-pleasing shapes can be created by utilizing vibrations and a harmonograph. I think you should check this book out. Made with audacity.

Layered out of an sks, ak47, uzi and a snare drum with a metallic texture. A short decayed 808 kick drum is occupying the sub frequencies. A bolt mechanic layer added before and after the shot transient. Two echo/reverbs were added for the stereo width. Shell eject layer added. All layers grouped together and lightly compressed and saturated. Made in ableton live. Enjoy.

This is a full acoustic drumkit sampled at multiple velocities with drum sticks and brushes, it was recorded in a small jazz bar at a local music school, i recorded this a long time ago with a zoom h1 portable recorder. It would still need some sorting and tweaking to build a soundfont or hydrogen drumkit which i want to do in the future but it will probably not be anytime soon.

Here is a morphagene reel made out of a free yocto sample pack, originaly released on my label concrete collage. A jumpscare/screamer sound that can be used for a horror game. I yelled into the mic, i then edited it with a few effects, then i added one of the snare samples built into the daw, then i added a synth (fake synth built in to the daw) and then heavily distorted it with a few more effects. My yelling was recorded with my phone's built-in mic and the daw i used was fl studio mobile (used cloud storage to transfer to my computer). I made this for my five nights at freddy's fangame.

Recorded the sounds with a zoom h1n in my apartment. Snare is a flick with my fingers on a wooden door + added snarebuzz in post production to it, kick is a hit with my hand on the wall produced some nice lows. I had to create an another track for just the transient, but essentially made from the same sound. Hihat is the stove's clicking sound with added reverb. Post production made in ableton live lite with mostly the integrated audio effects, but i also used some free plugins to create this drum loop. I hope you enjoy, it's 100% royalty-free.

We needed some drum cadences for julius caesar and i was unable to find any i really liked so we grabbed our orchestra drummer here at the theater and we came up with 13 different cadences for us including jfk's funeral march. Most are done on snare and then again on a single tom, easily looped for duration. They have no verb on them so you can add as you desire for your space. Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.

Behringer umc202hd - overheads (dynamic mics)line 6 pod studio ux2 - kick and snare (condenser + dynamic)zoom h2 - room ambience (built-in xy condenser mics). This file is a 6-channel 24-bit flac file encoded using ffmpeg from the raw wav files exported from the original ardour session. There are several issues with this recording however:. 1. The tracks seem to drift, because the individual audio interface clocks were not in sync. The proper way to record multitrack audio is using a single multichannel audio interface - but i didn't have one. 2. There's either x-runs or some usb transfer issues creating small glitches and dropouts in various tracks her and there. Don't know why did this happen, as we've been tracking the real drummer's performance without these issues. Now - fixing these issues manually would be an insane amount of work, but i hope maybe someone has means to either solve them with programming a special tool, or know a tool that could fix these, and make this recorded session ready to be sliced as a drumkit for say - drumgizmo. There's some really good stuff in here - an i was able to cut and mix some really nice drum samples, that i've been using for years, but it's not ready to be fully sliced for maximum flixibility. The instrument was played by myself - it's a drumset by pearl (don't remember the details), owned by the drummer of a band i recorded this with. The band was called small hint - hence the drumkit name. We were recording an ep, and i used some free time left to capture this as well. The ep was never finished and we disbanded soon after. Regarding fixing the issues - here's what i think needs to be done:. 1. I think each hit would have to be automatically phase-aligned on all 6 channels, to correct for the drift. 2. I think it should be possible to automatically detect clicks by simply watching for a sudden change in amplitude between adjacent samples - marking bad areas and then using something like audacity's repair effect to interpolate the waveforms. I think the glitches have much steeper changes in amplitude than even the drum transients, so it should be possible to differentiate between those automatically. If you found a way to fix at least some of these problems - please let me know!. If you've made some "remixes" on freesound - i'd also love to know that. Apart from that - sample what you can out of this and make some sick drum tracks!.

Kick sound created in fl studio using a reggae kick sound played both dry and using a denise punisher free distortion vst and then layered with a pure click from fl studio. The resulting kick to me sounds somewhere between techno and dubstep light. Would love to hear about anything you create with it but as always free to use whether you inform me or not. Revolt!.

Drumbeat made for the stones throw beat battle #391. This one has the snares very early. Made out of home cooked synthesized drum samples, mixed and added effects through reaktor.

It's a 15-minute long drum improvisation. It contails a lot of different beats and rhythms played so you might cut-out some loops for your needs. The kit has:- single kick- snare- hihat- 3 toms- broken crash that sounds really short- ride. The kit was old and not in perfect condition. I also used my sticks to play on some other part of the drumkit, like metal stand for the crash etc. I also got up and stated running around in a circle hitting sticks together and afterwards hitting drums and cymbals while running around the drumkit. I took my shoes off before i started so you can't hear my footsteps. I didn't use a metronome and i know i don't hold the tempo and it's a bit wiggly sometimes. I think this performace was inspired by band mr. Bungle. I recorded this with zoom h2 handy recorder's front stereo xy mics. It was standing on a table about one meter above the floor. Facing the drumkit and me. It was captured into a 48khz/24-bit wav file, then i trimmed the ends and converted this to flac using audacity. No processing applied, though i think it sounds nicer when you put these effects:. 1. A compressor:-attack: 10ms-release: 50ms-ratio: 2. 5:1-treshold: around -24db2. A reverb:-decay: 1. 5 to 2 seconds-dry: 0db-wet: around -15 db. It amazes me how much energy compression actually adds to drums!. I made this with my podcast (http://unfamusic. Com/fnr/) in mind.
