Are there a million of these sounds in film trailers? are there a million of these sounds on freesound? not sure. Started with 100k tone - pitched it down over time - it was too low, so then i pitched the whole file up a bit. Insert to make any slow mo sweeping matrix style scene look even more awesome. . . Or not.

A collection of 8 plasma rifle-style single shots, inspired by the plasma rifles you hear in the terminator movies. Each shot is slightly different so there is some variety. I created them by layering single gun shots with other sounds and then running them through a granular synthesizer with some effects.

These are some synths i tuned in reason. I've included them as an octave long run of notes so you can use them in your own productions. I hope you find them useful :].

This is my cat playing at my feet and purring. Unfortunately, you can hear the sound of my hand scritching him. I'll try again later and see if i can get him to purr without so much physical contact. Hopefully it's useful to somebody. Recorded with sanken cs-1e, fostex fr2le.

Formatted for use in the make noise morphagene. This reel was used in the morphagene: plane of composition video. It consists of several splices of equal length to be traversed through linearly or nonlinearly. Audio is counting from 1 through 8 with various text-to-speech voices. The output has been edited so that the numbers appear at the same time in each splice for plane of composition traversal.

This is meant to represent "stopped time starting to move again". It's rough around the edges but with better timing and editing it can make wonders. I put this together from freesound samples years ago for a school project. I unfortunately don't have the sources from back then. This is a noise i made myself with my mouth and an h4n and slowing it down to 80%. I was looking for the sound of a sheep eating, and believe it or not, i did manage to find one here. Damn, i love this place--you guys are the best!! still, it wasn't quite as graphic (or over the top) as i needed so i made this one. Enjoy.

I recorded my voice while playing freelance horror games; scp-087-b and slender sanatorium. This was so i could get genuine reactions to use as stock voice clips for future use. Some pretty interesting stuff came out. I often just say random stuff when all is quiet.

Birdsong and crows in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Recorded using a sennheiser 'shotgun' mic. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. The odd airline going overhead can be heard. Quite an eerie sound-bite. Feel free to hash it, mash it and trash it. Use it as you wish. No conditions.

I was just about to start recording a new radio show when the phone rang. I thought it was going to be a scammer but it was just a friend. Got back in here after eating lunch and found this still in the goldwave window, so i decided to upload it.

That was originally a boring industrial water heating system furnace. So i fooled around with audio effects to give that result that sounds like one of those old low budget science fiction movies or even some cartoons. It can be used in many type of stuff, it's up to your imagination.

Jokes on you! thats not a real bird. It was in fact my mouth that made the noise. Well technically i made a weird noice into the mic, then i only kept the high pitched sounds and with a little bit of editing. So yeah, it is my mouth but not the raw sound. I'm not that good. If you could tell that it wasn't a bird from the start then you get the prize of downloading this sound :).

A marimba note being struck while thrown in to the air. Can't remember the mic that was used but it was a condensor mic. This was recorded in my room so unfortunately the signal to ambient noise ratio isn't great. The sound can be used for free (though it would be great to hear about what you do with it). It may not be re-distributed as it is, or as part of a compiled sound library.

I couldn't find any good giant wings flapping here, so i made my own and am now sharing them so nobody else has to! screw paying for sounds! made from a combination of pizza box lids, sheets, and a bit of sound design. Mono clip of saxophone musician playing in a nearly empty square. Recorded using at shotgun mic & a beachman omni-mic. The echo of the sax can be heard as well as people walking and talking nearby. This a simple sound i recorded from my "master lock hard case" combination lock. I used audacity for noise reduction and editing. I couldn't find a good, free combination lock sound, so i decided to make my own :).

Baked some bread and took it into the bathroom with a bunch of foam pads. Recorded with an iphone 7 and cleaned it up in audition for a class project. I ate the bread after so no waste there. This is me playing the ancient (very rare) notes which bach created being really drunk. I'm a classics master, so i worked really hard to play it perfectly just as the note sheet says. Feel free to use anywhere, it's classic!(created with care using ableton, grand piano and 2-octave keyboard).

A short piece of melody. . . Sound is an artifact extracted from one of test records in new audacity. It sounds like a saw. . . Or something? idk. This piece sounds kinda exotic because i used the second half of harmonic e-minor scale. So some people could use this combination (descending harmonic scale) before (even now i can remember two examples. ).

I was on a walk and i decided to go under a busy bridge to record some foley. I'm about 4 feet from the top of the bridge and it was fairly large so there will be some reverberation. There was also a river nearby, around 10 meters away. This sound is in open domain, use it freely without need for retribution or credit.

Cold booting a computer built inside of a milk crate, allowing it to start up and start running a stress test, and then hard shutting it down by flicking the power supply switch. Multiple computers were running in this room and this recording is unedited, so there's some extra background noise. Sorry.

This is a recording of the sea-side. The wind noise was was difficult to remove (i hadn't used a wind shield for the microphone); so i decided to use it as part of a sound designed piece. I would use this as background for gaming or for radio drama; you may use it however you wish.

Thousands of noisy birds hanging out under the shelter of a tall metal tower -- kind of echoey sound, some wind and mic noise. The last breath of a creature, maybe a dragon, whatever floats your boat. I'm a game developer, but i also like creating sfx, and other cool stuff. So i was feeling like creating a small mmo for fun, but thought to myself;how on earth am i going to make all those sounds?so i searched a bit on the net for possible cool sfx techniques, and later on decided to just experiment with audacity myself. For this sound i recorded my own voice two times (i can make some weird sounds),and edited them in audacity. The result came out as some kind of dragon, and i was pretty pleased with it being my first organic voice. Use for whatever you like, a credit and a rate would be appreciated.
