My wife and i just recently moved to east los angeles, and the sounds are new and wonderful. Lots of chickens, no more automatic sprinklers, and lots of early riser heading off to work. This is a stereo recording of the early morning in our new neighborhood. Recorded with: sound devices 702t, beyerdynamic mc 930 mics.

Stereo hydrophone recording of a small croatian harbor basin. Hydrophones submerged by approx. 1m, next to the bounding wall of the basin, facing the open sea. Lots of waves can be heard, in the onset, a small motorboat passes in the far range. Recorded with a pair of jrf series d hydrophones, spaced 18 cm apart with 0° dispersion.

Walking on a tarmack road on a cold winter night with heavy clothes. Recorded in stereo 24 bit 96 khz with the internal mics on a sony m10 with windjammer. Gem pathescope 9. 5mm projector, unit #1191, made in england. Recorded on a marantz pmd661 with a rode nt4 stereo mike. The gem is a variable speed projector, controlled by a rheostat. Speed for this recording was unknown, but probably 5-10 fps. Microphone was facing the operational side of the projector, 50 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off. The speed variation during recording occurred naturally.

A field recording of a small cafe/restaurant in my area. I was tucked away in one of the far away tables so the people talking sounded more distant decided to record it as part of my college project. Would make good atmos. Recorded in stereo on a zoom h4npro microphone. Hope this helps! :)).

A recording of me chewing the last bit of a lozenge. First an open mouthed crunch is heard, followed by another. This transitions to closed mouth chewing noises mixed with lip smacking noises. The clip ends with a slight sound of a car driving by in the background. Recorded using a h4n zoom recorder. Sound is in stereo, and is in. Wav format. Feel free to use crunch chew as you see fit.

Sound recorded at the massive people recording in ghent - belgium. About 40 people make sounds together, directed by henk our friendly director. Everything was recorded by 4 microphones and directly mixed down to stereo for recording. This is ariane testing the microphones with her insane scream. It left her without a voice the next 3 days. . .

Another recording of rain and thunder, but in some ways a better one. This one is a surprisingly big crack and rumble preceded and followed by a nice sounding rain. I made this by positioning a stereo-matched pair of akg c451b condenser mics in an exaggerated x-y configuration (a wider stereo field) and aiming them out of my open window. The mics went into a universal audio 2-610 preamp, an apogee duet 2, and then ableton at 48khz and 24 bits. I believe i had the mics set flat, and there was no post processing (though i was mightily tempted to upload the much-better-sounding eqed and compressed files) so that you can fine tune it to suit your needs. You'll notice that the loudest parts of the thunder boom clipped the input, but, due to the pleasant and forgiving nature of vacuum tubes, the clipping sounds more compressed than distorted. Train passing on top of the auckland domain pedestrian underpass. The tunnel is a highly reverberant space and as the train goes by it creates sounds that resembles the orchestral percussion, timpani. Background noise: birds.
