This is a recording of scrap metal collection taken in pilton, edinburgh in august of 2022 at 4:40pm in the afternoon. The first thirty seconds are the sounds of scrap metal being loaded onto the truck (a trampoline if i remember correctly) and some talking. Then you hear the truck start up, and the message through the megaphone "any old scrap metal!" followed by a list of scrap metal items. At this point the truck is slowly driving away. This was recorded with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5.

This is the soundscape i've recorded in my neighboorhood of cidade tiradentes, a district from são paulo, brazil. We name these events as pancadão (big punch) or fluxo (flow). When a flow occurs, you know that the sound is very high and it invades all surroundings. It happened in april 4, 2021, during our worst period in the the global covid-19 pandemic. On many days i take a two mile walk from my house to my job. One gorgeous day i took my zoom h1 and sampled audio at various points during this walk. It was time to mow the lawn, and it was a beautiful day for mowing. 80 degrees and sunny. Not much breeze at all. For the production: i took the zoom h1 out and set it by the porch about 2 feet up off the ground. Recorded at 96k 24bit. The low cut and agc were disabled. Once recorded, i finished it off with a small amount of airwindows "air" with the 22k tap opened all the way up. For the mower: i used a 21 inch 140 cc "550ex" series briggs & stratton gas walk behind push mower. When i finished mowing my yard, i approached the recorder up to about 2 feet, then i cut the engine. I start it again and let it idle in close proximity for about 8 seconds, still at a distance of about 2 feet, then cut the engine one last time. I'm sure this could potentially come in handy for those outdoor scenes where you could use some distant neighborhood activity or a close-up start/stop. Enjoy!.
