This is a plastic tube meant for the filter system in a pond. I realised that it made a pretty cool sound when i tapped it at one end & recorded at the other. I have also uploaded another few taps with a harder object.

One of the many stores near times square (nyc) which are perpetually going out of business installed this public address system recently and was "going to town" trying to bring in customers. It didn't really appear to be impressing anyone.

Very strong wind in the beach. I couldn't help laughing blown by tremendously strong wind. My at835st was covered with a wind-protection foam but no use. I dont recommend this file to everybody. It may hurt your speaker system if played loudly. Marantz pmd661.

The staten island ferry "molinari" on final approach into st. George, staten island, late in the afternoon on april 04, 2021. The recording was made from the rear port side of the upper deck (where people are supposed to be quiet, but clearly don't obey the rules). Although the ambience is the in the public domain, the docking announcement over the pa system may need to be licensed through the dot. I have built a nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo, the regular version. Sloth is a chaotic lfo. The output is based on the lorenz system. It is a system of ordinary differential equations. It is notable for having chaotic solutions for certain parameter values and initial conditions. In particular, the lorenz attractor is a set of chaotic solutions of the lorenz system which, when plotted, resemble a butterfly or figure eight (very much from wikipedia). The sloth has two outputs x and y. Think of them as coordinate pairs. The output will probably never repeat itself but there is a pattern. I have built the regular sloth it usually takes approx 15 seconds to make a rough figure 8, one cycle in the “butterly”. Now i’m testing the module in different ways. In this sound i have connected white noise to a filter. The filter frequency is controlled by sloth (x output). In this patch i have set the initial frequency low. That’s why there is a low humming wind noise between the “tops”. The output sound from filter goes to reverb. The sound is more a study of sloth behavior than an attempt to create a great wind sound.

That was originally a boring industrial water heating system furnace. So i fooled around with audio effects to give that result that sounds like one of those old low budget science fiction movies or even some cartoons. It can be used in many type of stuff, it's up to your imagination.

Here's a low volume, low frequency noise recorded during an acoustic survey of a condominium to identify a sleep-disturbing noise. It is primarily a combination of 13, 18 and 23 hz (5 hz steps). Not audible on computer speakers, it should be listened to on closed back headphones or very good quality sound system.

This sound or sounds was created through the help of vst's, time shifting, parametric eq, cutting, sampling, layering and many other methods of sound manipulation. Do not put this sound through youtube's content id system.

Here are the highlights from a mri machine (a ge signa, i believe). Probably useful for robot sounds. You'll also note the cooling system in there as well. These things dissipate a huge amount of energy and are quite interesting. The actual sounds come from vibration of the coils as the machine runs through it's patterns.
