Field recording of times square in new york city recorded at 6 am on a saturday morning. The recorder is situated in the center of times square, some cars (mostly taxis) are underway, some (very few) people as well, cleaners and a team of subway construction workers are on the scene. Recording was conducted in march 2012 with a zoom h2, mics set to 90° dispersion.

Audio recorded on the nw corner of 47th street and 7th avenue.

Recorded in a village square around 9 pm on a sunday evening. Very quiet, some passing cars and distant voices.

One of the many stores near times square (nyc) which are perpetually going out of business installed this public address system recently and was "going to town" trying to bring in customers. It didn't really appear to be impressing anyone.

Plenty of traffic at a large square in central munich, southern germany. The square has been named officially karlsplatz in 1797. Munich natives seldom use that name, calling the square instead stachus. Towards the end of the recording a tram tries to force its way, using his bell for a looong time. Recorded in june 2016 on a new york city subway train stopping at times square station on the queens-bound 7 local train line. Recorded with a zoom h2n in 4-channel mode - this is the xy recording only (msg me if you want the raw ms recording!), without a windshield. File has not been modified.

This sound is made up with 3 differents sounds :. - the first is a 440hz sinusoide with a phaser effect during the entire time of the sound. - the second is a 440hz sawtooth with a wahwah effect during the entire time of the sound. - the third is a 440hz square whistle with a reverse direction. Also, i increased the speed of these sounds and i repeated them 3 times for a duration of 3 seconds approximately.

A very long stereo ortf recording of the main square (place de la réunion) of mulhouse (france) made with a pair of akg c451 and an edirol ua-101 sound-card. German children crying most of the time, men speaking, cars passing slowly, soft rain about the middle of the recording, siren and church bell at the end. Recorded in a subway station, with an iphone 6, 10 ft away. This guy plays at various stations, namely bedford ave and union square (nyc). He's got a very lively playing style and is always a joy to listen to. I want to get better recording equipment for next time.

My mother in the kitchen just around the corner from my closed bedroom door getting some ice from a square ice bucket in the freezer which is right at the entrance to the kitchen. You can hear them drop into her big glass and pop when they hit the water. I was recording out the window at the time. You can hear an american robin, red cardenal and mourning dove as well.

Jemaa el-fnaa is one of the biggest squares in africa, and is one of the most vibrant places i have ever visited. Each time of day brings a very different energy, and one will find snake charmers, musicians, dancers and stands selling pretty anything you could think of. Although busy during the day, jemaa el-fna is swarmed with people at night and can quickly become overwhelming. This recording is from february, 2020, using a tascam dr-05x.

It's recess time at san lorenzo de el escorial's real colegio alfonso xii's boarding school, madrid, spain. Children are playing games, mainly soccer, on escorial monastery's front esplanade, apparently used as a schoolyard. High pitched voices blend with bypasser's conversations. Putting aside the fact that we're on a world heritage site, this could also be your regular park where youngsters gather any afternoon. Recorded with a sony pcm-d50'stereo mics with wind muff.

This is my first upload: a short walk between the stalls of the vismarkt in groningen, netherlands. Is was a splendid and sunny saturday morning, about 9. 30 am, may 7th 2016. In the first part of the recording, a garbage truck is already cleaning up. Fish crates are being piled up and money is exchanging hands. As the name of the market square suggests, the stalls are filled with fresh north sea and wadden sea fish. But i also passed stalls where cheese, meat and spices were sold. Business was thriving at the time of the recording. The groningen vismarkt is broadly recognized as one of the finest food markets in the country. I used an iphone with a zoom iq5. As said, this is my first recording, so please bear with me. . . I intend to learn.
