A recording made at 4:30pm on saturday september 12th 2015 near a playground in a small town. A cool front had recently passed bringing with sharper temperatures and northwest winds sifting through the still green cholorophyll-laden leaves. You hear the sound of children fairly low in the background as they enjoy the playground. True stereo recording made with maantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted in tripods.

I left the recorder locked and unattended in the car whilst we went and did a bit of shopping. It was raining, breezy and the car was parked under a tree in a busy city centre car park next to a main road. You can hear cars passing at different speeds, the rain on the windscreen, doors opening and closing and muffled, distant voices. Zoom h1, internal mics, 50hz high pass at 6db/oct to reduce rumble.

At a baby shower and there are these awesome paper pom poms that sounded so amazing when you dragged them over your hand, like wind rustling stiff grass or dry leaves. Lots of variants of speed, direction to give you motion options in the stereo track. I'm sorry about all the wind pops, but if you're okay with a mono track, there are clean passes on both right and left. Recorded on a tascam-dr-40 and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. Wild parrots started flying in and landing on the trees along mission bay in san diego on a cool, cloudy day. I walk around and catch some individuals and groups. Sometimes they fly overhead. I did my best to minimize footstep sounds and wind noise. Mostly, i did a good job of that. No. 2 at about 2:35 there's a nice group after a long silence, so don't quit beforehand. The stereo mics add to the liveliness of the sounds.

Recorded on the shortest day of the year at the edge of a lake where the wind was gusting from the south at 15 to 20 miles an hour. At the beginning you hear some geese in the distance. This recording was made using my sony pcm m-10 with it's internal microphones set to level 5 input volume. I actually placed the recorder, carefully, in a crook of some branches in an oak tree about 5 feet above the ground---very near a big clump of dead and brown oak leaves. . . . This gives you that wonderful sound of the wind hissing through the leaves.

I feel this recording captures the serene, but sad, sound of dry leaves in the fall being scattered about by a strong north wind. I was really happily surprised that the sometimes un-listenable wind-roar and wind rumble is barely noticeable on this recording. . . . . . Emjoy this autumn soundscape.

It's an awe-inspiring building, with soaring, tree-like pillars and flooded with color from the stained-glass windows. Imagine you just landing on an unfamiliar planet, where the local on the planet is just some unpopulated area with a open wide field or jungle. You don't see any one, or anything, but either dust,trees, grass, or a vacant road. While your wondering through this place you also notice that that nightfall is approaching, and you can see the moon and the starts of this planet. I am playing a 9ft long log of ash wood (fraxinus excelsior) that i cut in half and hollowed out then stuck back together 15 years ago. While i play it i am remembering when i cut it and the place it was growing and the reason i felled it, and remembering when i revisited that place 7 years later and saw the tree growing back so well from the cut. I am remembering/dreaming about all the other times i played it and the reasons why. I am "future dreaming" of what will be its part in the space opera and what effect it will have as well :).

Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

A hot summers day in the deep swedish forest. Recorded with zoom h5 with two dpa 4060 mounted in a ab stereo fashion. Birds chatting and bugs flying by is major elements in this field recording. Decided not to remove to much of the bugs in post because i felt it might suck out the soul of the recording. In post: in pro tools i removed some low rumble, and and trimmed the highs just a little bit. Added a "pro expander" to lower some noise, both generated by the h5 and the location. Hope you like it.

A recording made february 24th, 2019 in a residential section of a small midwestern town. . . The stiff north winds are rattling the remaining dry leaves. . . You will also hear the subtle singing of the birds that always greet you in late winter. . . Birds like house sparrows and starlings. From time to time, you'll hear the tinkly, nice sound of some wind-chimes hanging on the front porch of some house. The skittering of dried and old leaves scooting across the ground also makes an appearance. Enjoy this cold late-winter soundscape!. While recording birds at the south sutor above cromarty, black isle, highlands, scotland on may 7th 2014 about 3pm a raf sea king came along to practice cliff rescues nearby to my annoyance so recorded it instead. It hovered behind the trees nearby before heading towards the cliff did a lower and lift and then swept round in large circle before heading back over the sea to the base at lossiemouth. Recorded using a zoom h2n recorder and software provided with recorder called wavelab. No alteration or special effects used.

High above our heads and the less pleasant layers of car traffic, budgies tweet and chirp and chitter. Nestling in the crowns of pine trees in various parks across the eu capital, they add a subtropical flavor to brussels' diverse soundscape. Just as most of the city's inhabitants, the ring-necked, alexandrine and quaker parrots came from a different place. Having escaped a zoo exhibit many years ago, they've been eking out a living, adapting to the tempered climate and found themselves a new home. I needed a very specific brand of lollipop with a chocolatey center for a short film i'm working on. None of my library crunch fx sounded right, so i chomped into one myself. Just call me mr. Owl. Recorded on an iphone, about an inch from my face. Just a single crunch edited to have a little extra tail. The effect came out as a satisfying crunch with decent low-mid range. Could be pitched down a bit to act as bones, or maybe a small to medium sized tree branch. I may record more of these after i visit the dentist next.

1:56 field recording of exterior daytime environmental windy day in an exposed lincolnshire countryside location, but with mics completely shielded inside a bus-shelter for a less in your face perspective. Mics are pointed upwards into the wooden box roof of the shelter, which has added a somewhat eerie and disconcerting lower mid rumble to the scene. This is one of the very few canarian permanent waterfalls. It is located in los tilos forest, a biosphere reserve within las nieves natural park in la palma (canary islands, spain). It's about 25 meters tall and flows into a gorge covered by a thick laurel forest (laurisilva), a tropical ecosystem full of trees and ferns resembling jurassic park. Rode nt4 mic with a rycote wind muff on (slight attenuation of the higher frequencies is noticeable to my ears) sitting on a chair under an awning on my porch. I hit record slightly too late to catch the first couple of bell rings, but got most of it. First we hear the church signal 8pm, then we hear the courthouse do the same thing. Also some wind in the trees right above the mic, some rain, a bit of thunder, and some cars in a small town. Also a huge truck with loud engine that sounds almost like thunder towards the end, in fact it was mixed with thunder at one moment. Captured with maudio delta1010lt soundcard.

I recorded this at late night in a rural german area at summer, approximately 150 - 200 meters away from the party (the party took place on a big and open field). The wind was blowing away from the people towards me, which is the reason, why you can hear the people well, even though there were trees between the people and the recording micorphone. Mabe you can hear a few cars very far in the distance along with the near taxis, picking the people up to take them home, too.

This recording was made at mid-afternoon and features the peaceful, pleasant wind through the deciduous trees. From time to time though, the soft call of a nuthatch or a chickadee reminds us there is still bird life in the early autumn woods. You can hear the swift movement of the wind moving around and blowing on the leaves of the tree west of my house in the neighbor’s yard. You can hear the movement of me walking around back and forth in my yard listening to all the sounds trying to hear them clearly. You can hear a car drive down my street going east, the car was very heavy and going very slow.

A peaceful, drowsy-ish recording of a midwestern usa large field bordered by heavy forest. This was recorded in mid summer, on a very hot day. Temperature was 90 degrees, but, with 45% humidity it was manageable. The good thing about this recording is i was far enough away from humanity's engines to get no cars, no boats, no loud. . . . Anything. Well, except the insect chorus. This is the time of year in illinois that autumn is getting imperceptibly closer. The skies are clearer blue with less humidity. . .
