Warning! this is an extremely unpleasant sound if you're a headphone user. You know that noise from chrono trigger when lavos cries out as it breaks out of the ground, or in dragon ball z, toward the end(yeah right) of the fight between frieza and goku, when the lightning storms begin as planet namek is breaking up. Like a cross between an earthquake and a lightning strike. Yeah, that sound. This is the result of me trying(and failing?) to make that happen with soundforge's fm synthesis.

Raw unedited recording of harsh metallic tinking sounds caused by a hot metal plate being hit by water droplets. The plate was hot enough to induce a leidenfrost effect preventing most of the water from boiling and sizzling away leaving mostly the impact sounds.

Me walking on a metal grate in hard soled shoes. Some of the sounds are unpleasant but most are salvageable if you are looking for a casual walking sound.

Sci-Fi Soundtrack Could also be an opening theme. This is a warbling mono synth. Pretty dark... not super unpleasant. Second section is more staccato, and can be used on its own. - Kevin MacLeod

Samples from a freakenfurby, a circuit-bent furby toy by dave barnes. These are glitched speech synthesized vocalizations recorded at 32 bits by direct connection into sonar. Ambient sound akin to the bridge of a starship. Muted background hum with an overtone of air conditioning ducts. Pseudo-random high pitched blips occupy the soundstage. Could be used as an ambient sound loop for hi-tech / science fiction interiors such as a laboratory, a control room, or the bridge of a spacecraft. Created with two instances of flstudio 3x osc. One kicking out a pair of sinewaves plus noise for the background susurus (hum) and ventilation sound. Second 3x osc is set to produce two interfereing square waves for the blips, squeaks and buzzes. The background was notch filtered and bandpassed to mellow out the humming sound and reduce hiss. The blips were processed with flstudio equo, stereo enhance, fruity delay2 and fl pan-o-matic vst. Each blip was pasted by hand in a seemingly random but not too unpleasant pattern.

Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Recorder: edirol r-09, 48khz wave/24-bit, cropped with cool edit pro, re-saved as 48khz wave/24-bit and compressed with flac. No other pp. Edirol r-09 settings: low cut: off, mic gain: low, agc: off. Recorded on june 15, 2012 in åkersberga, sweden.
