Recorded the whole seven to eight minutes long show in a relatively secluded location, so there is minimal to none audience in the recording. This is my first submission to the site. I've recently been exploring sound design a little bit more and thought i would provide something. Here is 15 minutes of ambient sound recorded around 5 am on october 10th, 2011. I used a shure sm58 microphone through a native instruments audio 8 dj interface. Without a microphone amplifier or my active microphone ready to use i ended up amplifying this about 52 db then removed the extraneous noise by 80% @ 40 db using the noise reduction plug-in in adobe audition cs5. 5. Finally, saving the result to wav @ 44,100 hz, 16-bit.

This recording was made in the afternoon during a rainshower under my carport in louisiana. The rain is striking three different surfaces in this track: cement, roofing and plantlife. Now, i'm no pro, nor is my equipment (olympus ws-310m w/ built in mic), so discerning these different sounds is difficult. You can hear the dripping from rain: fast drip in the background of this track. However slight, there is also a noticeable electronic note which is simultaneous with the water striking these surfaces. You can also hear slight rustling sounds that could be wind or my shirt moving near the mic (i was wearing the device on a lanyard). The file is wav, recorded in stereo at 16 bit at 44. 1mhz.

Sometimes i regret being so stubborn, only using analog modules in my modular. How easy it should have been creating cool rhythms for the drums with a digitalclock generator or having a nice wave table oscillator etc. . . . It's a recording of me taking some vitamin pills (3xrutinoscorbin). You can hear me taking the box, opening it, pulling out the blister, poping out the pills, putting the blister back into the box, closing the box, throwing it away, taking the pills into my mouth, taking a glass of water, dringing water, swallowing pills, putting the glass on the table, and breathing out. There is much background noise, bu it's static and i leaved a clear sample so you can denoise this. Recorded with a zoom h2 into ardour daw. Originally 4800khz/16-bit wav.
