A couple of workmen arrive and go up the stairs.

An electric drill, not drilling, i just pressed the button down. Recorded onto my minidisc.

This is a sound essay comprised of five 1-minute recordings. Seagulls and other birds are present throughout. Airplanes are heard at 2:07 and 4:22. Carpenters and other workmen are heard more or less throughout. Cars and trucks pass by frequently; trucks beeping as they back up are also heard. It was a foggy day, so a foghorn can be heard occasionally. Recorded on sony cybershot dsc-hx9v. Location: portland, maine (usa). Date: october 25, 2022.

Recorder setup opposite to workmen digging a trench in the road. Traffic is controlled with lights and can be heard moving left to right and then right to left. Zoom h5, external stereo condenser mic.

Recorded on marantz pmd661 with rode ntg-2. Sound of builders taking down scaffolding in a large echoey space. Sporadic clanging and banging sounds throughout and occasional muffled voices (with cockney accents). Good ambient sound for builders working in a cathedral, empty art gallery or some other large, open space.

Nighttime construction sounds, recorded in oregon. No voices, just the sounds of trucks & equipment on a building site at 1am. You can hear the large running diesel engine trucks, forklifts and backhoes working.
