This recording was made from the balcony of the kitchen of my apartment in italy in the province of rieti during the new year's eve where you can hear bangs, people talking from the windows, cars playing, etc. This recording was done with the shure mv88 plus digital stereo microphone connected to my iphone 12 pro.

A neighbor of mine might have just peed in his pants if he couldn't shoot off his illegal commercial fireworks before the fourth. So, july first, his manly outpouring of window-rattling bomb blasts echoed across an entire valley. For nearly two hours. I like fireworks. When i go to see 'em. Not so much when i can't get away from them. Sure, i could have gone shopping, or out for a drink. I recorded it instead. This particular explosion is just the largest of those that came after i started recording. It's just a lowly iphone but it does pretty well. Admittedly, even with no amplification it might have been too much for the microphone. You have the clear launch sound followed by burst and echo.
