Here's a recording of people walking on a bordwalk beside saint-laurent river in québec. This recording was made with a sound devices usbpre2 into a tascam dr-680 (spdif) and 2 microphones studio project c1 in ortf stereo pattern with a 80hz low cut.

That sound was recorded in mai 2016 inside an old watermill house in bavaria, where the old waterwheel still drives a wooden gear with cogwheels. Originally that watermill had several purposes like hammering, sawing, pressing oil from different fruits or producing paper.

I made this pad sound by starting with a traditional saw wave and mixing various effects together such as reverb and chorus. The wav file also has pre-defined loop points that can be used in samplers that support the functionality. Note: there is a slight static noise that is present when the sound is played through the freesound player on the website, however, the static is not present when played outside of the freesound audio player. Warning! loud noise! this sound is not intended to listen to, but to do technical measurements!. This is a test recording i made to measure my headphone's frequency response. It plays a nice "left" and "right" to determine the channels. Then it plays back white noise first in both channels, then one at a time. Then the same with sine sweeps. Then short impulses.

Files labeled "ms" correspond to mid/side recordings. This allows for adjustment and separation of the stereo image. To makes the most of these samples, i suggest you do, or the stereoness could sound exaggerated. Most daws and audio editors have this capability, or you can use any of several free applications, such as voxengo's msed (set to "inline" mode). The pack variations correspond to different recording techniques and microphone combinations.
