Sfx for a mail being delivered through a mail slot. It is a recorded with a hinged piece of metal screwed to wood because i no longer live in a place with a mail slot but needed the sound. Sounds a little thinner than a real one but it served my purposes. Recorded on a sd 702 with an ntg1 in a small video studio with cement floor and treated walls and ceiling. The beefier dropping mail sound was recoded in a small hallway with tile floor.
I needed the sound of stamping letters in a post office. (for background use)i could not find any good, so i made this. I used to work in a postoffice, and i think the sound is pretty close. Nagra ares m with improved xy mic. I used a little (-6db) izotope2 nr.
Opening a metal mailbox, dropping a heavy letter inside, and quickly shutting the mailbox-- two times, the second louder than the other. I attempted to remove the traffic from the background as best i could!.
