Recorded in my secret spot in the adelaide hills, you can hear a stream, crickets and some birds. This part of the forest is away from noise and people, nature makes cool sounds!. You can use this for whatever you like.
Birds singing in the afternoon spring. Small suburb town, a few cars pass by, a bit of wind chime sound. At a particular spot a little fly comes say hello. A bit of wind artifact again, sorry! recorded with zoom h4n. :).
I captured this excited pileated woodpecker on the edge of some deep woods, on a hot dusk in august 2010. It was about 7:30 on a calm night at the edge of the shawnee national forest. The tempurature was 85 degrees. What i find really enjoyable though is the rising, and ebbing and flowing of, i believe the typical summer cicadas. Recorded using my zoom h4n recorder using the internal buil-in microphones.
Not a very good recording, and very short - but this is the flapping of a juvenile bald eagle's wings and its cry. I'm only uploading this because i don't think there are any other samples on freesound. I didn't manage to get a good shot at this one, so that's all there is. But i'll try for a better sample as soon as i can. This is a real bald eagle - not a red-tailed hawk, which is what most eagle samples really are. As with the loons, i'm on a bad dialup connection but if i get a better sample i'll upload it as a wav.
A recording done in mid-summer 2011 done in deep woods. Many different birds calling out, insects singing, and an overall background of the song of crickets rising & falling.
Sorry for the white noise, they were too far and i just have only this budget recorder! :). Recorded in el hierro (canary islands), twilight. This is a very classic sound there in the coast when the sun falls in summer. Recorded with a zoom h4n, with its internal mic (set at 120º).
An odd sound: i set pocket recorder out hoping to capture some birdsong; a raven swooped down and made a couple of passes above it. Perhaps he was attracted by the colorful fuzzy windscreen? at any rate: recorded on an olympus ls-14, some wind in the trees in the background.

Murmuration in ireland, on the electricity lines behind my house. Must have been at least one thousand starlings. In this you'll hear them tweeting etc and a whole bunch of them flying. Recorded in stereo on zoom h4n. Some low cut filtering used but nothing else. I have 13 continuous minutes of this so if you need more, just ask lol.
A walk in a forest above the town of drammen on a lovely spring day. Birds were twittering and chirping, a woodpecker was pecking, oak leaves were shaking and church bells were ringing.
