Generated 10 minutes of white noise, applied some eq and what i may call stereo expansion, and got this thing that should be good enough to be used as an ambient sound for cold weather or polar wind. Many of the sounds i have found here and elsewhere, have other noises and/or were created through other methods like blowing.

Big storm hit my house, and i recorded it from just behind a window. Recorded in stereo at 24 bit with a sony pcm m-10 with furry windshield. This sound is entirely made with audacity, i played with the noised and reverberation on several tracks, then i shifted the tracks to create a come and go effect. I also reduced the volume on some parts of the tracks. This sound remind me of a windy weather near the ocean.

A recording of a series of northwest wind gusts blowing through the bare december branches. A wind-chime adds some color, as well as a far-off train towards the end of the recording. Recording made on december 17th, 2014 with the zoom h4n recorder and using its internal, built-in stereo microphones with the record volume set on 82.
