It's a recording of three emtec cd-rs being broken with bare hands. I had 3 audio cd-r that were burned useless. I decided to record their last sounds. You can hear the cds cracking and breaking, me bending them and trying to break them - they were pretty elastic - i had to learn how to crack them. So at first i had some trouble. Around 0:45 you can hear as i'm bending two cds together they squeak and crackle but don't break. The sound is not edited (hence the tag "raw") - no processing was done - i just truncated the beginning and the end leaving you everything you might need. Recorded with a zoom h2 placed on my bed. I was breaking the cds above it. There was a lot of splinters around, you can hear me fiddle with them from around 2:10 on. Originally wav 96khz/24-bit. Truncated and converted to flac with audacity.

Because i consider myself primarily a harsh noise producer, i decided to upload a few examples for those who have ears still virgin to the horrors of terrorous hardcore industrial noise.

I evolved my jigglypuff via moonstone into a wigglytuff and ran my gameboy through a series of effects pedals to dramaticize the evolutionary process.

I found a bunch of old broken tripods and random plastic pieces and slammed it on the floor as hard as i can, and then i added some distortion in audacity to give it that "punch" sound.

A large, industrial-era brick factory building in lawrence, massachusetts is demolished with controlled explosive charges. Recording was made from the other side of a large parking lot.

Frequency sweep generated in audacity, then added some effects in wavepad. This sound would fit well for end of the world sirens or something. Enjoy!.

I remember i broke something off of a soda can to make this sound. It just sounds like something breaking, could fit in many cases. It would be very fun if you left a comment on how you used this, i would be interested to hear. Created for an upcoming film, this is the audio from a nightmare a character in the film has about the terrible 1966 aberfan, wales disaster. He sees himself in a hallway at pantglas school then hears the coal tip land slide coming, then sees it crash through a distant wall and come rushing at him. This was a very difficult piece of sound design to construct because of my emotions about the disaster and how the national coal board responded: 500 pounds sterling maximum to each grieving parent for each dead child, and with questions such as, "how close were you to your child?" if the answer was somehow not close enough for the panel, no money was awarded. The film scene will be handled with taste and respect, and no dead children will be depicted.

It is a sound i created for my project. I used it for destruction of some bigger ships. But it should works for others. I used rifle sound, thounder and volcano eruption sound. And mixed it with audacity.

Recording of traditional sneaker with hard rubber sole stepping down on glasses on hardwood floor. Moderate room tone present. First takes are extremely near to glasses on floor, then followed by takes done about a meter away and at waist height. Glasses used were a pair of old metal framed earhook with polymer type prescription lens and an all plastic frame "blue light reducing" pair with plastic lens.
