Blogspot. A grey squirrel (sciurus carolinensis) recorded early afternoon on 23rd july, 2018. The animal was shaking its tail while calling from the trees, approximately, 3 metres from the ground. Recorded with sennheiser k6/me66 attached to a zoom h5. Editing was done with audacity, mainly to cut the worst of the road and aircraft noise. No noise reduction was been carried out. There is some road, aircraft and rail noise. There can also be heard woodpigeon, carrion crow, blue tit and some insects.

On a hot afternoon the squirrels are barking constantly in the background (they sound like chickens clucking) and blackbirds are crying out loudly, kind of sounding like hawks. There are songbirds (not the predominant sound) the types of of which i'm not sure.

Pine cones dropping and landing on a bed of pine needles. This recording was made on a windy day, so there is some background "whooshing" wind; all in all, i think these pine cones softly landing on the needles can be put to good use. Recording made with my zoom h4n recorder, with a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. For this recording i literally wanted to get as close as i could, so i placed the shotgun microphone on the ground and carefully let the pine cones fall as close to the microphone as possible, but without hitting it. *not easy to do. I did edit out some of the direct hits!. Enjoy, and if you ever get the chance to spend a warm afternoon in the peace of a thick stand of pines, you should. Kvgarlic.

Some stuff i added to my playing drums to 'rich woman' and i added some claves, drumsticks, cowbell, tambourine and maracas all on separate tracks recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited with sony vegas. It stutters slightly near the end. My computer? i'm not a pro by any means when it comes to mixing, but please comment on what you may use it for. Thanks. :^).
