Three-way intersection with a crossing guard. A school bus with squeaky brakes stops, the guard whistles traffic to a halt, and the bus moves, honking its horn as it goes. Traffic then proceeds.
Field recording of an electric train passing by. Recorded fairly close, wide dynamic range. I had to reduce the input gain during the middle section of the recording to avoid overloading the adc. I think this a fairly good example of the spatial image binaural recording can provide. Gear: sharp minidisc, soundman okm binaural microphones.

I recorded this in the morning during the summer. I heard the horn a few moments earlier about 7:30 am so i ran outside with my camera and recorded a really long one. This is the canadian pacific enjoy!. Tools used:audacitysony cybershot camera.
This is a recording of a train going through two stations in a city (bristol)on the seven beach line. It is a diesel train. It is not a high speed train.

Includes many sounds of starting with some diesel locomotives, depot ambient noise with passengers, and goes into the steam locomotive preparing to leave the station then goes into sounds of the locomotive as recorded from between the cars with a very nice steam locomotive whistle blowing frequently.
