This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. Horsei recorded the tongue on the palate. At this recording, i added a wahwah effect to give the illusion of a horse to the trot.

Horse running.

I really needed something that sounded like a group of horses galloping in the distance and couldn't find anything. So i busted out my zoom h6 and set it on my futon comforter and then just tapped my fingertips on the surface right next to the stereo mics. Then i put that track in premiere and made four layers, all offset to get different rhythm and i thought it turned out pretty good so wanted to share it.

Horse racing: a girl wearing a tap-dancing shoe ran on a wooden board, tapping her instep and heel at different moments to look like a galloping horse. Horseshoe sound as it runs. Recorded with a shotgun shure vp89 microphone, behringer u-phoria umc404hd sound card, in adobe audition.
