I'm attempting to create a controllable thunderstorm for a film, and this is my first legitimate attempt. This recording consists of 4 samples of rain, and another 3 samples of rain+thunder that i recorded one afternoon. Equipment used was the inbuilt mics on a roland r-26, and a sennheiser me66 into a sound devices 702. The clips were recorded at 96khz/24-bit, and they were processed at 48khz/24-bit. For processing, i put the samples into kyma, and crossfaded for texture. The howling wind sound is an analog-style low pass filter's frequency, level, and resonance being controlled by a wacom intuos4 pen/tablet. The rain slowly swells, which was done by changing parameters of a granular reverb. The thunder was also controlled by the wacom tablet, with x, y, and z (pressure) dimensions mapped to making the thunder swell in level, density, and texture. This could have been output in surround, but i don't have that many monitors ;). This style of "rain-synthesis" can also go on indefinitely. Please let me know what you think of the quality of this track; eg, if it sounds real, if the wind sounds ridiculous, too much thunder, etc. Use this sound (wherever) if you want to, or let me know if you'd like an mp3 of this, or for it to last longer. Your stereotypical wind chime sound effect. Used a lot for transitions into dream sequences and flashbacks in movies and films. I took a very fast recording of someone hitting some orchestral chimes, slowed it down by over 200% and added some harmonic excitement and equalization in post production. Tools used:- usb logitech microphone (no lies, seriously used this $10 mic)- fl studio 12 by image line- vitamin by waves- dynamic eq by izotop. I sampled the bell tree at our church. After seeing how much the instrument costs at the music store, i opted to not buy one. The long version of this moves from left to right, and has the single sample repeat twice. So it begins on the left, has a delayed start in the center, then finally a third repeat starts on the right. Add liberal amounts of reverb, to taste. The clip starts with the car's recharging flap being opened from inside the car, then fully opened by hand, then the plastic socket cover being opened, then picking up the charging connector and plugging it into the car. There is some clicking as the electric vehicle's cooling fan turns on for a short while. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder at a small, suburban farm. This is a short, dissonant loop made with a neapolitan mandolin. This has been recorded with an sm7b into a rme interface, and quantized to 148bpm in logic pro x. This is a dry file with no other processing. I used it on a couple of old-school hip-hop beats to trigger effects or completely butchering with distortion for some extra textures. The sound of the bottom of a ceramic mug, dragged over the metal grating of a coffee machine. It sounds like a sword drawn from a scabbard. Recorded using a zoom h6 in the kitchen. Applied a filter to remove unwanted low and very high frequencies. Also corrected the volume level to adjust all four recordings to the exact same level. There are some minor distracting noises - i assume from my shirt while moving the mug over the surface. Also a fan is very faintly audible in the background. A nearby moo. Taken from a field recording (quite literally) i made of the cows mooing in the field next to our house in pembrokeshire, wales. Recorded tuesday 14 april 2020 (while in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic) on a zoom q2n. Note, incidentally, that "zoom" spelt backwards is "mooz". Spooky, eh?. It's a recording of over 100 people watching a football match (poland-greece @ uefa euro 2012). Recorded in a medium-sized hall. You can hear the sport live commentary broadcasted from television, people expressing their emotions with their voices. Clapping their hands, cheering their team (poland) and generally making a lot of interesting noises as they watch the game. Recorded with zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode. Originally 24-bit wav, normalized and converted to 24-bit flac with audacity. I have reduced the mic gain at 0:56 to ensure i will not have a clipped recording. I didn't edit the result to let you cut-out whatever you may need.

Some sounds of blowing across the top of a glass bottle. Specifically a 33cl cider bottle. :-). Captured using a rode nt5 small-diaphragm condenser microphone and a zoom h5 recorder. Basic editing in ocenaudio, also applied some slight de-reverberation. I intend to record a proper version later on, including different articulations at various pitches. But that may take a while.
