Tento zvyk se rozšířil i do Spojených států amerických, kde se ve Washingtonu koná festival třešňových květů. 15. září (den několik dní před začátkem jara na jižní polokouli) se v australském Brisbane na oslavu „Dne třešňových květů“ často nosí do práce košile v barvě třešňových květů.

Oranžová kůra je barva na půli cesty mezi oranžovou (barevný kruh) a jantarovou na barevném kruhu. První zaznamenané použití slova orange peel jako názvu barvy v angličtině pochází z roku 1839. Pojednání o rozdílu mezi barvou orange (barva na půli cesty mezi červenou a žlutou) a barvou orange peel (skutečná barva vnější slupky pomeranče), lze nalézt v Maerz a Paul.

Americkou růžovou lze popsat jako sytě žlutorůžovou. Na Wikipedii je tato barva uvedena jako odstín na růžové.

Oranžová byla jednou z původních barev formulovaných společností Crayola v roce 1903.
