I created these pings to sound like a submarine's sonar using surge (synthesizer) and rayspace (reverb).

This register contains the movements produced by the air on small boats stationed on the pier. It is a curious and disturbing environment.

This is a 625hz active sonar ping, the type used for long range low resolution seafloor imaging or anti sumbarineuses. Note: this is an actual sonar ping, but of a type very rarelyused today. Most active sonar, especially anti submarine sonar, is14khz and up making it very difficult to hear.

This recording is a 96khz recording with a contact microphone attached to the prow of a small whale research boat in the island of dominica.

Recorded with a zoom h2 at 96 khz / 24-bit, truncated and saved to flac using audacity. I left some silence n the start if you want to denoise it yourself, but i think it shouldn't be necessary. It was really quiet.
