This recording is inspired by alienxxx http://freesound. Org/people/alienxxx/sounds/345510/made a little patch on my modular, still missing its (main) oscillators. I let the patch sound thru a pair of cheap computer speakers that i use as monitors. In an adjacent room, close to an open window, i put my phone and record. This is the unedited outcome. The recording was made 09:00 (16-05-11). Unfortunately nothing happened outside the window. Even the birds was quiet. I think there is a hint of feedback in the sound? first i planned to record with an old tape recorder, but i couldn’t find it. . . I think this recording should be listened to with low volume. May by it was a mistake to amplify the sound in audacity? but i think there is a nice room ambiance to the recording. Ideas for next time. Use guitar amp. Find old tape recorder. Don’t put recording device to close to window.

This is a recording of the scariest/weirdest computer crash i ever experienced. I was working in after affects when the screen froze and this sound started blaring through my headphones. I unplugged myself and let it play through the speakers then decided it was really neat sounding, so i took a mic and recorded it. This was a couple years ago but i never uploaded it because the recording didn't do it justice. I opened the file recently and thought it sounded kind of neat anyway, so here you go, internet. Robot is not registered to vote in texas and is arrested, charged, convicted and sent to prison for voter fraud. Anti-robot prisoners beat robot to death in the exercise yard. I made a script in python with three balls bouncing around at different speed. When the ball hits a wall a beep is played. The slowest bass plays a 110hz beep. The middle ball a 220hz beep and the fastest a 440hz beep. Python can’t play two beeps at a time…sort of random “music”… you control the rhythm with the ball speed.

Sounds of an old hard disk drive from 2005 (hitachi). You hear starting of the spinning noise and the heads rumbling when data is read and written. I started a short defragmenting to make the disk noisy. Recorded with a roland r-05.

Lighter sounds captured for the mct - physical computing subject. It was capture with a small speaker as the input, capturing the sound of an empty lighter. The small speaker was plugged by alligator clamps in a 9v battery. After that i've processed the sounds a bit with a pinch of reverb, delay and some compression.
