A second attempt at recording the deep mud i keep finding myself walking through each morning on walthamstow marshes. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics (connected to a bent wire clothes hanger and positioned about 30cm above my feet). Processing: normalize -1. 0db, low cut filter 100hz, minor noise reduction to reduce background traffic/train noise. I do not require any credit or attribution. Slow deliberate walk up a set a concrete stairs in a concrete stairwell. Lots of reverb. Sounds a little ominous, like someone is coming to get you. Recorded indoors on a samsung galaxy s3 using recforge.

Running in place in dirt in tennis shoes.

Walking on grass. In my opinion could be also used for dirt, that why it's called "soil". You should play with volume on this one. Background noise removed as usual. Enjoy!.

I have so many sounds, i overlook stuff. Someone may find a use for this. Someone enters my shared apartment and i don't know who it is, or to whom the heavy footsteps belong. Doesn't matter, i'm in the bathroom, all i have is a towel and there wouldn't be time to any more than get to it. I prefer to select who sees me that way. Usually. So, i run to latch the door.
