A metallic bowl which when rubbed circuitously with a pestle style cylinder creates a beautiful note that gradually builds into a full ringing tone. I was recording outside my bedroom window while eating dinner in the living room, then i came back in here to see if i got anything interesting. I was zooming through the recording at 5x speed when i came across this bit of incidental pareidolia. I'm not sure what was going on, maybe the neighbors' stereo, but i don't remember hearing it, it's much louder in the living room so i should have. Whatever it was came out as a little distant choppy 2-notes alternating melody when played at 5x speed, which suddenly gets louder and solid as you hear the lower note followed by a third lower note. These 2 louder notes sound to me like someone singing the words all day. This would lead me to believe the original tones have some light harmonics i don't hear at normal speed. After which it goes back to the softer stuttering 2-note alternating thing from before. It doesn't sound like much at all at normal speed. So i just did a few straight pitch changes with goldwave until i got to 5x and saved this little file. See if it sounds like "all day" to you.

Edirol r-44 and audio-technica at835st. Stereo. A dog barks, but it seems to me that it sings to the music from a loud speaker that tells noon. It's hard to believe, but the dog began singing just after it had heard the sound and stopped when the sound stopped. The voice pitch also accompanied the melody.

Recorded with only a small digital video camera at a cafe in pushkar, india. As i sat by the lake one afternoon, two indians sat down on the ground in front of me and began playing this and singing. There is background cafe noises and the odd motorbike going by and beeps, people talking and its not great quality but, someome may like it. . . I recorded myself singing in the tunnel that connects the buildings on the minnesota state capitol complex. This is the first measure of music in the kyrie mass in g minor, which is usually sang by a chorus in a cathedral environment. The tunnel makes it sound exactly like i'm singing in a church.

Recording was taken in the night from 22. 04. 2000 to 23. 04. 2000 in the so called 'leine masch' what is a floodplain of our river called leine. I was on the way back from our easterfire, an old german tradition in the night before easter sunday. Similar to the bonfire in august in britain. I heard the nightingale singing, went at home took my sennhiser me80 with the windshield basket and recorder zoom h4. I returned to the place i heard the nightingale and the bird was still singing. On the recording you can hear the ambient of chemical factory of honywell seelze, a street with cars sometimes, a second nightingale far away answering our nightingale near by. And some frogs. At the beginning of the recording there is also some handgrabbing noise, later i fixed the mic on the saddle of my bike and there is no longer the handgrabbing. Enjoy the beautyful singing, cheers.
