Made from taking two large atx (the form factor, the chassis) computer panels (that i havent used in quite some time), rubbing the entirety of them together quite brashly (one is on the ground), keeping the recorder on xy setup in my other hand in unison then dropping them onto each other. Inside of reaper, i begin changing the rate and pitching them down and applied saturation, distortion and reverberation gave them a very clean effect of a decrepit gate shutting down. Good for trapping your enemies in a battle to the death for which the title is inspired from; one of those tension moments a person in a film/game finds themselves in.

Curiously, you can hear the song of insects, cicadas, which usually sing on warm summer days and not on spring nights. Dogs can be heard in the distance and some distant traffic. Recorded with a zoom h1 in stereo.

To create this sound i recorded myself opening a can of coke in my bedroom. To record, i used my aston spirit microphone on cardioid polar pattern and my focusrite scarlett 18i20 second generation (2nd gen) interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.
This is a sample of my own voice that i am using in a song. This would work well in the breakdown sections of metal songs. I use it right before a solo.
Some hints of distortion. Some sloppy playing around doing some pull offs. Can probably add some extra delay or even reverse the track to get a weird playback. The name says it all, sloppy.
