Dartington crystal wine glass struck with a rubber headed mallet on the rim. Recorded at home on may 5, 2014 at 11. 30 p. M. Equipment used: zoom h2 handy digital recorder, front mics, wav recording 24 bit 48khz at 60 cm from glass (small room) imported as mp3.

I know it may not sound much like a chopper but i've used it to create a similar kind of ambience in previous electronic productions. Please let me know if you use any of my sounds. I only ask that you do this because i love seeing creativity in action!.

My recording of the dawn-chorus in bishopstone glen, a small steep-sided valley with a trickling stream heading out towards the north kent coast near herne bay. Conditions at 5:30 am on monday 18 may 2020 were warm and gentle. Recording was made using tascam dr-07 mk ii.

This is not the greatest recording ever, but you may find some use for it. Single player dribbling a basketball in an open gym and then some bank shots and some swishes. The slight hum in the background is the gym lights powering up. There is an mp3 and a wav version of this file.

From july 4th, 2019 by the house. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas. Tracks were duplicated and the last bang was slowed down. Listen how the sound echoes around the hills. These are two separate recordings with my yamaha pocketrak of a single robin and you can hear the other robin answering in the distance. Though i like to watch robins pull worms from the ground and love their song, they also have a bad habit of sitting on my truck mirrors and crapping on my truck doors. :^) please comment on what you may use it for. :^).

A guitar through defective self-modulating delay. The time potentiometer went "bad" after years of hard twisting and abuse, and now it warbles and pitch-shifts on it's own. It's very temperamental, though. The pedal is a johnson "ead-2 analog echo delay". May be useful for an outro or something! let me know if you use it, i'd love to hear the results!.

We watched the stephen hawking show on pbs last night as they tried to filter out voices from space and i thought this would make a good alien voice trying to contact us. I've never heard so many frogs/peepers so deafeningly loud, persistent and oblivious to humans. I tried to record where the water was running but the animals drowned out the sound of the water. At 5'13 you can hear "nigdy nie zagaśnie" shouted by the party crowd inside the building. No "sto lat", no "niechaj gwiazdka pomyślności", just plain "nigdy nie zagaśnie". Is it a firefighter thing or what?. Recorded with zoom h4n.

On a music tour mostly travelling along the volga river and stopping at various places on the way. Captured on portable cassette recorder. Was never told what place this was, just that it was the "little town' and i suspect at this point we were on the oka river. Making whistling sounds with blades of grass. May 1992.

This sound is of a loop of chains being manipulated, along with footsteps. It is meant to invoke a sense of imprisonment or creepiness, but you may use it as you please. It was taken using a zoom h4n field recorder. The chains were 1/4 inch thick, attached to picnic tables, the footsteps are of skate shoes on concrete. 2014.

Short vignette meant to invoke a mixed sense of adventurous curiosity with a sinister undercurrent for apprehensive tension. This is a recording of the sea-side. The wind noise was was difficult to remove (i hadn't used a wind shield for the microphone); so i decided to use it as part of a sound designed piece. I would use this as background for gaming or for radio drama; you may use it however you wish.

A marimba note being struck while thrown in to the air. Can't remember the mic that was used but it was a condensor mic. This was recorded in my room so unfortunately the signal to ambient noise ratio isn't great. The sound can be used for free (though it would be great to hear about what you do with it). It may not be re-distributed as it is, or as part of a compiled sound library.

Field recording of diamond lake a few hours before a storm hit that forced all boats to dock. This is in late may of 2022. On a hike at the north end of the lake, i stood at the edge of the water and held my recorder close to the growing waves.

Some thunders are closer, pretty clear and loud. Be ware for some of my movement sounds, you may need to edit.

I live next to a car repair place and they have a couple of hot rods that they fire up now and then. This is a '55 chevy and to me the idle sounds like a dragon breathing. He does a couple of slight burnouts and you can hear the echo off the buildings. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited with sony vegas with one track duplication. A set of variations of a scary soundscape. May come in handy if you find an alien artifact and you want to show it on youtube and need some acoustic colours for it. Entirely made on a pc with software. No mic or instrument used. Most of the software i used for this is available for free. Mainly used: antopya, chimera and the alchemy player. .

bruxxing is when a rodent grinds its teeth. Sometimes it can be quite loud. It may seem like a sign of aggression, but it's actually their way of showing they are content. My boys will often brux for lengths of time, but unfortunately i could only catch this little bit. Also, they do this thing called "boggling," which is when their eyes seem to be popping from their sockets. As strange as it looks, it means they're really happy.
