This sound is a superposition of two records. First, i recorded a coffee machine and cut it to extract just the sound of the money that falls in. Then, i recorded the sound of keys and mix it together on audacity. I wanted to make a sound that can be repeated in a loop. So, i copied the record of the coffee machine to give a rhythm to the sound. I tried to cut the sound of the key perfectly to make a loop with the help of the option “search for crosses with zero”. Then, i added view effects. I have changed the amplification in purpose to bring out more the sound of the coffee machine. I also change the reverberation. Gradually, my sound made me think of a music in a video game that i used to play, rayman. It was difficult to describe what the sound was like, but i liked the atmosphere, so i kept it. This is maybe 18 students, with the mic about 10 feet away from the nearest student, mic towards one side of the room, pointed towards the middle. We also have ac on, and an av cart that has a fan on, plus a wall clock, some of which you may not be able to hear over the students. Mic was the zoom h1 set to record a wav file, record level manual, low pass filter engaged, with the quality settings at the highest values. It was then put through audacity to amplify it to the highest allowable levels without distorting, and spit out as a wav.

Each clip is separated by a few seconds of silence. For authenticity, i left all the dc voltage spikes and electronic noise in place. I was standing on a city street on a rainy day and the cars made a lot of noise driving through the wet streets. I'm not sure if they do this test every year but i do remember they did it last year. I'm also not sure if this is province wide (guangdong) or maybe even country wide. The government let us know about a week earlier that they would do the test. If they let me know one day or even better one hour before the test, i may have been able to get to a quieter area for a better recording. There were some tests earlier with longer tones but my recording had even more background noise and this was the best one.

A recording on an un-expected but very welcome warm day in january in the northern hemisphere. A recording of the activity going on at a small park in a small town, in a small region. The beginning of this mid-january 2023 recording features some sounds from several people playing pickleball. Towards the end of this audio, the laughter of the kids really takes center stage. By now covid is getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror, mother nature has decided to give us an extra 15 degrees of warmth and the adults, and youngsters are having fun just being outside and smiling and laughing. These are two guitar solo outtakes from a guest guitar session i was asked to be on. They essentially wanted that early era slayer vibe where there is more cacophonous noise than structure. I think i recorded 15-20 for two sections in one song. They chose two other files and this was the one i liked best to keep as a memento. I am the creator and owner of the audio contained within the file. I know guitarists these days want to sound like an andy sneap plugin, but this may give someone a different idea. Within the context of the song they were for they fit well. I'm not apologizing for the playing or quality of the recording. Just something i did for a friend that took me 4x as long to set up than total time under the red light. It was fun.

Sample of a metallic percussion hit. The sound is quite dark and muffled. I call it underwater drum, because it sounds to me like it's underwater. This sample is tuned to a1 but there is a very dominant overtone at b1, which is the musical interval of a minor second. The source of the sample was the platter of a dismantled hard disk drive, hit with a wooden mallet. It was then pitched down a lot. The sample is almost raw, i just added some slight eq. The sample was intended to be used with a sampler, you may want to add some reverb for this and filter the previously mentioned overtone, when you use it in combination with other tuned instruments. This is a reading from the second chapter of "nathaniel's nutmeg: or, the true and incredible adventures of the spice trader who changed the course of history", by giles milton. They are all gone now, destroyed in feckless deference to paper. When the paper runs out, there will be nothing left to write our collective histories on, what we desperately need. When this occurs, it will stand as the moment our past was truly lost, leaving us lost the same, drifting in circles. Until another man or woman rises up to invent trees again, thus beginning the cycle anew. It's a beautiful idea. We should always be moving towards the future, not lost in syrupy memories of old forests not seen for what they really are: petrified wood and amber. Leave that with the other fossils and relics. Let it be the final page written on the last book until it crumbles to dust. Let it go. The file was recorded using a mid/side stereo technique at 24bits, downsampled to 16bits under the loving care of gaussian dither. The room was treated as best i could to be acoustically pleasing and quiet. I think you will find the noise floor to be particularly well balanced and textured, suitable for post-production tasks, or just for relaxing with at home. .

Here are the audience bits from a jazz concert i recorded using an olympus field recorder. The auditorium was intimate and acoustically excellent. In the first section if applause you will here a mild rumble. There was a standing ovation, and that's what that rumble is. I also included some quiet bits of the band on stage getting ready for a song, and some subtle crowd walla as well. There is plenty to play with if you need to loop. You may here some bits of the mc or sax player in the background near the end, but nothing you can't work around if you need to. A semi-rare and priceless recording (at least to me) of a whippoorwill; a bird who, unfortunately, is declining in many areas of the country. This recording contains more hiss than many of my existing nature recordings, but i still want to post it so you can get sample of this wonderful signature sound of summer woods at dusk. Recording made in the shawnee national forest in late may of 2010 using my zoom h4n recorder. I used an audio technica at8035. I was trying out this microphone. This particular microphone does have a narrow acceptance angle, which is probably 1 reason for the hissiness. Still, go out in the summer woods around dusk sometime and maybe you will get lucky and hear this beautiful little bird whose distinctive calls have livened up the woods for generations of many youngsters – including me!.

Recorded at hope st radio, a bar/restaurant/radio station at collingwood yards, during the tail end of a disorganising community dinner. In this recording, about 80 people are learning or playing mah jong while the restaurant kitchen closes service and the sound system is off. There are adults and a few small children in the room and too many djs (common problem here). It was recorded on a sony pcm-d50's internal stereo microphones at 120°, mounted to a tripod while everyone drank the last of the free natty wine. #natural #wine #salomons. I built it because i could. It is fitted with gliding linear slide carriage bearings, has a counterbalanced offset crank with needle bearings, a jackshaft to drive it from a variable-speed dc motor, and even a variable stroke length (which was tricky). Above all it has something i haven't seen in any of the machines one can buy, a bendable, collapsible coupling that would prevent injury to whomever is on the receiving end of the stroke. Clearly it will never be placed into production as it would cost too much to sell at a typical consumer price level. I wanted to see if i could make a warning effect like the civil defense messages that play on the radio for storms and other emergencies, so i recorded my voice, and pitched it down, equalized it, put it through a high pass filter and lo and behold, i think it sounds pretty darn close. I then coupled it with a couple alert tones from my local noaa / nssl station and this sound was born. This effect could be used for an apocalyptic scenario or civil unrest, riots, looting, or anything else you desire. Not required, but it would be cool to hear if you use it for anything. Enjoy!.

What if we could hear sounds from another planet ?. In this imaginary place, people can visit zoos under water. Here is the sound of a yhtem, recorded by a visitor from inside his personal submarine. The recording device was found by a member of the zoo staff, as it was floating over the water. It gave no more informations about what happened to the visitor, except that according to several monster's specialists, the yhtem « sounded hungry ». In the real world, this sound was created using the sound of a very brief scream. At the background was a noisy street, and some cars were passing by. I used two different screams and mixed them, before decreasing speed and tempo in audacity. -. Xson « cannelé ». Having been a bit ill on some rich iron content food i couldn't stomach (offal it was, it was the sheep fried liver who was the culprit - the very rich iron content upset my stomach pretty bad - was looking for something "new". ). Keep in mind that i am unable to do this as a request for obvious reasons including health, livelihood and risk of damage to equipment. I tried very hard to avoid shaking the zoom as not to make the wobbling sounds. If i am ill again, i'll use my ma-2 (microphone stick) and gravity microphone stand and get a real good recording of real vomiting but keep in mind this was recorded in my showerroom so some er may occur.

Zoom h4n 2018 - onboard microphones. This recording is 17 full minutes of ambiance from inside an in-n-out fast food restaurant. This in-n-out is located in downtown burbank, california located at 761 n 1st st, burbank, ca 91502. The great thing about this recording is that it's free of all music that would invalidate the recording due to copyright restrictions. In-n-out, unlike other fast food chains, does not allow music in their dining rooms. This is because most in-n-out locations are so busy and constantly loud, the addition of music would create an unbearable sense of mayhem. So, rest assured you may use this ambiance in your project with no restrictions!. The beginning of the recording starts during a busy lunch hour. Sharpening knife : sharp sound. The sound was post-processed to make the sound of the knife seem more scary. Afiando faca : som afiado. I built it because i could. It is fitted with gliding linear slide carriage bearings, has a counterbalanced offset crank with needle bearings, a jackshaft to drive it from a variable-speed dc motor, and even a variable stroke length (which was tricky). Above all it has something i haven't seen in any of the machines one can buy, a bendable, collapsible coupling that would prevent injury to whomever is on the receiving end of the stroke. Clearly it will never be placed into production as it would cost too much to sell at a typical consumer price level. May all be for nothing because i can't get anyone to let me try it out, and i'm only accepting female applicants from among people i know. It's my machine. Sue me. Things may be closed but tennis courts still work, and she was dressed for it. The hallway we walked through after, was empty. A lot of them are lately, we used this one. "after" was that once she finished, the visible front door gave her pause. I wasn't done, so we continued with her chest on a desk in the first open room we came to. More daylight in there, too. From the hallway we wouldn't have been seen. I decided not to tell her about the mixed-gender group of five that gathered at the window for a while, nearly two meters away to intently watch us making more of these sweet penis-in-vagina sounds, gathered by my phone, edited in audacity. Airplane, atr 72 (at72) flying by towards airfield at 300 m altitude. Atr 72 is a plane much like the dh8d, a twin engined propeller plane. Recorded at a quiet location (maybe only some birds). Observing point: 300 m from the side of the flying route (one has to look up about 45 degrees for the plane). Speed: about 250 to 280 km/h. This is the recording as it is, recorded with zoom h2n music-capable voicerecorder. The mode of the voicerecorder was just the good old ordinary left-right stereo recording (xy) not such things as mid-side or 4 channel etc. No compression used. I may have edited out some sudden bird sounds or beeps from the camera but that's of negigible influence on the sound. There is a slight hiss from a row of trees in the distance. Feel free to use. If you're happy with the recording, it only adds to the fun i already had of it.

I had to make a background track of roman senators talking for a comedy radio theater production. I recorded myself 5 times in different voices (other than my own) and got this track. There's a dumb senator in there, an old man senator, and three other random senator voices. :). You may do whatever you like with this sound. . . No attribution required, although i'd appreciate it if you would! :). Comments are always appreciated! :). P. S. Try to see if you can tell what the dumb senator is saying. . . That was the one that always got my friends laughing. Hint: it starts out with something like this (duuuhh) does any-body know what 'appened to julius caesar? well i see he died, but who knows? etc. Then he starts talking about how dumb he is and how everybody should imitate him because he's so dumb. . . Etc. :). All of the voices are done by me and none of these voices here are my normal voice. Xd.
