This recording was made in the afternoon during a rainshower under my carport in louisiana. The rain is striking three different surfaces in this track: cement, roofing and plantlife. Now, i'm no pro, nor is my equipment (olympus ws-310m w/ built in mic), so discerning these different sounds is difficult. You can hear the dripping from rain: fast drip in the background of this track. However slight, there is also a noticeable electronic note which is simultaneous with the water striking these surfaces. You can also hear slight rustling sounds that could be wind or my shirt moving near the mic (i was wearing the device on a lanyard). The file is wav, recorded in stereo at 16 bit at 44. 1mhz.

Well. . . . . Field recording is a bit of a stretch this was recorded on my back porch in springfield mo usa in june of 2000. I used a minidisk and two pzm's and a home made spliter box that worked only if you never touched it. It was one in the morning to try and avoid most of the traffic. Rain starts about half way in. A brief summer storm that occured in my home town of perth on the 31st of january 2023, starting at around 12:30 am and going for about 10 minutes. I decided to quickly setup my +atat 2020 and put it just outside my roof under the patio to record the rain on the tin roof.

Rain: this is a very subtle rain sound. It is not sharp but it is very constant. The droplets are hitting hard ground. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. This sound is great to add volume to an already existing rain-ambience.
