Rear l+r channels. A passing thunderstorm and dripping rain recorded on march 8th, 2009 at deer grove forest preserve near palatine, illinois. The recording is slightly edited to prevent it from being too long. The recorder was placed under a picnic area roof, so the water is dripping from that. I think you can almost hear the storm passing from approximately right to left. Recorded using a (slightly wet) zoom h2 in 4 channel surround mode. Went out to get birdsong and general ambience without realizing it was going to rain. First two minutes can hear birds and bugs and nature sounds, then past the 3 minute mark the rain begins to set in gradually.

Rain & distant thunder around 8pm in warren, michigan (suburb of detroit). Recorded on a zoom h1n. Some faint traffic sounds & a bit of white noise coming from an air-conditioner unit. Zoom h1n was placed in my porch light compartment about 2 feet below our rain gutter. Most of the original hour long recording was ruined due to wind gust, but i edited it down to the only continuous 11 minutes without the gust of wind.

Night storm in evosmo-thessaloniki (part 1) with more than 30 lightning strikes and thunders in a period of 20 minutes. The recording was made by me with the zoom handy recorder h2 (open window of my apartment). Sounds like even the street traffic, car alarm, a horn ship (the port is 6 km far away), human voices, dogs, and inside noise. Making use the adobe audition 3. 0 to edit the file. Enjoy.

Recorded during the heatwave that the uk endured in 2022 this was a recording made from the garden on august 25th. The recording starts with gentle rain which slowly becomes heavier. Around 25 minutes the first distant rumble can be heard. From 30 minutes onwards. The soothing sounds of thunder and heavy rain. From an hour on the storm moves away and the rain eases.
