This is the sound of the short part of guitar strings plucked over the headstock, between the nut and tuning pegs. This sound is completely analog. I recorded the sound of my key ring and tried to extract just the sound of the key. In this purpose, i used the effect “noise reduction”. I tried to avoid distortion but after several attempts we still hear the sound of the voices in the background. Plucking the rim of an empty wine glass with my finger. Recorded a bunch of samples then isolated the ones i liked into this file. Left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. While all the samples were initially recorded at 16-bit 44100hz, some of the later ones compiled into this wav were accidentally saved at 8-bit and have gathered some noise as a result. All samples recorded using a blue yeti microphone. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. Attribution appreciated but not required.

I decided to tinker around on an old kid's practice first act piano. There are metal rods inside that are struck, and produce a plink/ringing sound. It is also out of tune, which makes it wonderful for producing an eerie feeling when played in a minor key.
