Mid morning bird song from the 50+ house sparrows that use our side garden to eat from the feeders, perch on the hedges and generally don't go too far away before coming back for another meal. The recent garden birdwatch survey has been published which shows sparrow numbers have increased but are still down from where they were when i was a lad. I'm 72 so that's a long time ago!.

One morning i woke up and found i had a mouse/rat trapped, but still alive. It was making squeaking sounds, so i recorded them, edited out the noise as much as i knew how to, and amplified the whole thing. The mouse was disposed of shortly afterward. Poking around in my grandmother's barn - building is approx 140 years old and filled with old tools, furniture and other random things. Recording consists of a lot of rusty metal scrapes and thumps, footsteps on old wood, doors etc. Recorded on a hand-held sony pcm-d50. I've edited out the worst of the wind and other artifacts of my sloppy recording technique, but there may be some still in there.

Blood gushing fall to concrete floor; created by pouring a water/corn syrup mixture onto my foley artist's arm over a concrete drain. Towards the end you can hear my foley artist start laughing because the mixture was splashing everywhere lol. . . Still a great clip and we used it in a horror slasher film to simulate blood gush from a stabbing.

Sound description: hundreds of crows squawking on a breezy afternoon. In nature you have a "gaggle" of geese or a "pod" of whales, but a "flock" of birds, if they happen to be crows is actually called "a murder of crows". An appropriate name if you happen to be standing underneath hundreds of them in the trees. They emit a murderous ;) squawk and screech for hours. This was a digital audio recording, done at 48 mhz at a group of trees a mile from a country freeway. You can still hear the ambient sounds of the distant cars.

A musical santa plush with old, half-used batteries that i recorded 16 years ago. Sorry for the loud sound, the bitrate and the sound quality. I thought the file would still be usable. I don't even remember the equipment used for the sound recording, i think it was an old caraoke microphone connected to a pc with the means at hand.

I used some compression and a bit of eq to make it sound like something you'll hear on a gaming console machine. However, the audio spikes from the high freq took me a while to cut off. Can't figure out why it does that but in my opinion it still sounds good :).

A water faucet set to drip in a chaotic manner, without much regularity. I put a plastic container lid under that for sound to be more pronounced, but that added crunchiness and now it doesn’t resemble dripping as much. Recorded with redmi note 5 phone, denoised in audacity plus filtered bass out a bit. P. S. I need to say that i foolishly recorded it into an im app and the recording ended up as. Ogg, so it’s not as good as could be. Still i hope there is enough spectral richness left. I should have used a dedicated recording app which writes. Flac files, i just hadn’t thought. This is a (-nother) synthetic soundscape i did some years ago, reminiscent of a wide, enclosed, dark cavern, very good for subtly underlaying film scenes playing in appropriate locations. Originally, it is a recording of me blowing on a beer-bottle, captured by a sennheiser condenser mic, and then receiving some attention by the yamaha multi-effects generator in my university back then. I still like and use it a lot today.

Shaking a 7-up can by holding the rim and holding the can sideways so the tab i broke off earlier slides around inside the can up and down the walls. It still has a few drops in it. File ends when i put it down on the desk on the other side of my keyboard from the mic. Recorded with cheap 12-year-old radio shack mic.

This is a first in a series of noises from machines. I work at a company that prints and packages things like decals and parts on cars. This is the noise of the printer making some sort of thumping noise, as it was broken at the time and hadn’t gotten to be fixed. If you’re wondering what hat terrible whirring is in the background, that is the combined noise of about a dozen large machines operating as well as the ac and it’s pretty commonplace there. This is a section of a recording i did when a school nearby had a field day. There's a decent part in the middle, where the wind sound is practically gone. I used some filters to take out the wind sound as much as possible, but the high end whistling of the wind is still a bit audible. Feel free to use this in anything!.

The sound of the city during quarantine (almost silence).

Multiple gunshots recorded at an indoor gun range. Many of the shots are from an ak47, including single shots and full auto. There is some background noise, but there are some good clear shots in there that can be easily cut out and used. Unfortunately the original recording is only mp3 and the recorder had auto-gain set so some shots are recorded louder than others, but there are still some usable shots in there.

Fireworks recorded amidst the buildings of an apartment complex. Lowpassed around 1khz. Slightly expanded dynamic range. I cut as many incidental noises as i could hear on my headphones (cars, neighbors, etc) but there's still some residual hum from an electrical box that was nearby as well as wind. My first recorded sound! it's actually just 6 secs long. I was on a vacation yesterday to a cottage resort, but it was a really rainy day. I decided to take out my $300 samsung to record a bit of the rain. I had the quality at 22khz, so the quality kinda sucks but it's still ok. I also have 2 more sounds (i couldn't record any more because my mic on the tablet broke and it only picks up static).

This is basically a remix of of previous recording. This field recording at frog hollow estate, daylesford, victoria, australia was after dark on a still night when the frogs went mad with joy. And why wouldn't they after 10 years of drought and now it's so wet and the pond they live in is so full with beautiful rainwater. In 15 years this is the noisiest night of croaks. Recorded on a zoom with 96k sample rate and 24 bit depth. I selected these settings to register the whole range of our frog croaks.

Here are some drums i made, on the synthesizer again. In order they are: parallel compressed kick, regular kick, snare, closed hi-hat and open hi-hat. The set before the break is mastered, while the set after the break isn't (i did throw a little limiter in there though just to boost 'em up a bit easily, but they're still not mastered). Enjoy. Recorded myself cutting up, tearing and squishing a watermelon, resulting sounds processed only with a slight low-cut and normalization. Recording quality was not as great as i would have hoped although there should still be something useful here, i learnt 2 valuable lessons though:. 1. Watermelon juice and microphones are best kept separated. 2. Sounds travels quite well through kitchen worktops so don't put the mic flat on it!.

A recording made at 4:30pm on saturday september 12th 2015 near a playground in a small town. A cool front had recently passed bringing with sharper temperatures and northwest winds sifting through the still green cholorophyll-laden leaves. You hear the sound of children fairly low in the background as they enjoy the playground. True stereo recording made with maantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me-66 microphones mounted in tripods.

Tokyo outdoor night ambience. This is a recording of the shinagawa area of tokyo after 1:00 am. Crickets can be heard chirping in the distance, as can cars on a usually busy road. The trainstation is closed, but there is still some activity that can be heard as well as wind and other night ambient sounds. Recording was made on the 6th floor of a highrise apartment behind shinagawa station. 2 mics placed at a 120 degree angle were used. No filtering was used. The only editing done was removal of the beginning and end of this clip.
