This, my dear friend, is ils - infinitely loud silence. Play some other sounds and then play this, and you'll know why i call it this way. It's created by a bug present in lmms, a free program for electronic music production. Actually this sample can't reproduce the ils phenomenon, that creates a dc offset so big, that it outnumbers any other signal getting out of the same audio interface and the result is silence. It's a silence that is masking other sounds. Mind-boggling. Nasty bug. All this sound can do is cause some distortion, probably because 24-bit sound can be only as loud as 0db. 32-bit floating point should be able to get louder, but still i don't think any sample file would be able to reproduce this product of error.

This a free, 10 minute demo of extremely high quality silence. It is stereo and has a high (96000) sample rate, and is probably the best quality silence sample around. The poor-quality mp3 hosted on freesound is simply not enough. Download it and listen to the flac to hear it as it was intended. . . Ssshhhh. . .

The beginning of an argument. Not my smartest off-hand remark, and something you might say to a girlfriend, not a boyfriend. "well, i should do her!""you already did. ""that was ages ago. ""what, a year is ages, now?""before i met you. ". Like i said. Unsmart.

This recording was made at a canal when it was reasonably dry. The canal has a road running parallel to it and above it. The side of that road has a largish (30cm?) pipe that drains water into the canal. I made this recording by holding my zoom h5 portable recorder in this pipe, and recording with the inbuilt stereo pair of microphones. You can hear the traffic passing above with the zoom of the occasional fast truck, but it's muted and it's echoing around the pipe. There's a hollow rumble running through the whole track. I made the recording in august (spring) of 2021 in brunswick west, australia.

Just some quick piano background for the videos, i originally used it to put on a video of some diy stuffnot so very proud of it, but i think that will do if using in a simple projects. That's why i'm giving it away for free. :) hope that helps!.
