A friend and i have carefully re-created a sound very similar to his boom sound from scratch using thor synths and reverb in reason 7 and cubase with some tweaking in soundforge. This one's totally public domain, creative commons, non-attribution pro-commercial use! and it sounds just like herbert's. Remember,. This is not herbert boland's sound. I've created this sound for my project by layering a lot of sounds together, since i couldn't find it here. This one has more metal impact at the end. Feel free to use it :). Comments and ratings welcome :).

Created for a trailer for a film. I used a grandfather clock for the main ticking of the hands but layered and added other sounds such as a heartbeat, hall kick drum with reverb and synthesis techniques. Please note: the ticking by note be in sync if you use and a countdown image i had to move the ticks to accommodate the wall clock i was working with due to the ticks where not always in time.

This is a completely custom kick i made from scratch using a drum synthesizer and also mixed and edited with a waves puigtech eq modeled after the famous pultec eq and a waves puigchild compressor modeled after the famous $30,000 fairchild compressor. The sample rate is 24 bit/48k and a headroom of -6 or 3db i cant quite remember but nonetheless more than under clipping. Give me some feedback and let me know if its good and i'll upload more for you guys. Peace.

I recorded my raw kick drum with a shure vocal mic and then gave it a bass boost using audacity. Not too bad considering the equipment used. It is a kick drum 22" with an evans emad 2 head, a pillow inside, and a medium quality pdp drumset.
