More rain and distant thunder recorded from an open window. I recorded it with an optimus tape deck and an old microphone (the tape i recorded it on was a maxell ur), i then used audacity and the same tape deck to convert it to digital. This is a ufo sound created by a waveform generator and manipulated by an audio editor ( i believe i used audacity) to create an eerie sound of a ufo. If i try to run past this dog's protected yard, he'll come right out onto the road and attack. I've had to mace him twice already. If i walk past and display my mace, he'll let me pass, but he always does this. I'd rather mace the owner, but i can't get him to come out on the road. . .

Using a finger and a small blackroll tube, i recorded a few plopps with a rode nt-usb mini and the rode podcast recording software. Noise gate and compression were turned on at the time of recordings. For me, it sounds a little bit like a cork popping from a bottle, but it has a richer sound, somewhat overdoing it. . . Good for sfx though.

A semi-rare and priceless recording (at least to me) of a whippoorwill; a bird who, unfortunately, is declining in many areas of the country. This recording contains more hiss than many of my existing nature recordings, but i still want to post it so you can get sample of this wonderful signature sound of summer woods at dusk. Recording made in the shawnee national forest in late may of 2010 using my zoom h4n recorder. I used an audio technica at8035. I was trying out this microphone. This particular microphone does have a narrow acceptance angle, which is probably 1 reason for the hissiness. Still, go out in the summer woods around dusk sometime and maybe you will get lucky and hear this beautiful little bird whose distinctive calls have livened up the woods for generations of many youngsters – including me!.

A broken fridge at a place i work sometimes. Starts off sounding normal enough but then slowly starts going crazy, i'm no refrigeration expert but i'm pretty sure there's something wrong here. Made me jump when it makes that first noise :p.

Decided to record myself walking home from a commuter-rail train station. The sound near the end was me walking through my front door; the television programme you hear is the premier of 'house of versace. '. Recorded with my lg optimus g using the 'smart voice recorder' application.
